If you take offers and tired of buyers not paying then for example if you are willing to go from $50-35 on an item just decline the offer and tell them you will change the price to 35 their offer but remind them that anyone can buy it at that price now. i have done this several times and not once did the original offerer buy it someone else did and it was on average a couple of hours later. ;)

As of yesterday I launched 10% promotion sell on 500 out of my thousand plus items and then I went on top of that and added another extra 10% promotion sell on items that I’ve had in the store a long time… My question would be if I accept offers does it do away with the promotion sale or do they end up getting all of the discounts… Sorry I get confused easily lol MysticalLoveAndLight

Here’s a problem I see. When people shop on other online sites like posh Mercari etc, the money is immediately taken out of their account. On eBay, I’ve had so many buyers not pay right away and when I send them the payment reminder they didn’t even realize they hadn’t paid for it. They assumed it automatically came out like it does on literally every other platform except eBay. So I’m not buying their excuse that the ebay culture expects a window of time to pay. It’s 2022, I say get with the times ebay! Lol

@@CherishEaDay You are correct that best offer doesn't currently have an immediate payment system set up. It's supposedly been in the works for a while, but not yet. Immediate payment is an option you can set for a standard Buy It Now purchase. I think best offer is a terrible "feature" for a lot of reasons, but among them is the lack of immediate payment. Ebay may send a reminder, but people being people, they wait until the last minute.

So I used to want eBay to be like Poshmark and Mercari where when an offer is accepted payment is immediately taken from their account. I have come to the realization that is no longer something I want. I offer free shipping and free returns so what’s going to happen is when immediate payment is taken out and these repeat offenders realize it then they are going to either ask for the transaction to be canceled or most importantly let me mail them the item and then just start a return and I have to cover return shipping. The reason why it works on Mercari and Poshmark is because they do not offer Returns unless an item is not as described. So the immediate payment for eBay doesn’t work when eBay offers Return for any reason. And I know people will just say don’t offer free shipping, free returns or returns at all but that’s not realistic when a lot of us want to remain top rated sellers.

Recently, my sales were super slow, maybe one sale every other day, and when I ended my listings and SELL SIMILAR with a price reduction, my sales jumped up to 2-4 sales per day! OFFERS TO BUYERS also increased by 70% I recommend Sell Similar to any listing that is older than 6 months.

@@SarahStylesLLC - Yes, It's recommended by eBay that you End Listing and Sell Similar items that are 9 months or older but I normally do 6 months or older. To me, 6 months is long enough for your items to be stale and pushed down to the bottom.

I don’t mind waiting for payment on an item. What I do mind is when you remind a buyer to pay and the buyer does not have the decency to tell you they are not going to purchase the item and the item sits. eBay can say that it is part of the eBay culture waiting to pay, but I have also heard eBay say when they raise fees for example they are just going with industry standards. As far as I know (and I am no expert) industry standard is now immediate payment.

This is helpful info! Interesting as well. Haha I remember back in the day having buyers send me personal checks or money orders to pay for their item. If it was a personal check I’d always wait to make sure it cleared first and not bounce. The money orders were quicker, lol. That sounds ridiculous 😂 I’m definitely doing something on ebay everyday, multiple times a day but I don’t always list everyday but it sounds like that may be ok for the most part, unless it’s more niche/harder to find/collectible items. That’s great. I think ebay could at least shorten the length of time someone gets to wait to pay. Currently it’s too long, imo. I think 24-48 hours is fine. I also hope buyers that don’t pay and/or chronically cancel actually do get dinged for it. Good for you, btw, getting asked to speak at ebay open! Nice job!

i only sell similar when the item has great potential and needs to continue being noticed, and ready to be relisted within 48 hours, I end it and sell similar. I never end a listing though with watchers, those I don't touch.

My issue with not having to purchase right away after accepting an offer is you get scammers sending offers and not paying for days and you have no clue and your item isn't available for purchase during that locked in time and it isn't right to the seller. Two things, did you ask if best offer is in the algo, and you didn't mention coupons. Coupons have been a game changer in my store. relist gives a completely new item # just like sell similar does. so its interesting to know if it includes the old data points or not because it is technically a new listing, with an all new item #

Um… I’m not sure this is true. When an item is auto relisted it’s still synced to list perfectly or vendoo because the item # is the same. And eBay team confirmed this when I was talking with them. It’s only a completely new item (to eBay) with no data if it’s completely end.

I do sell a decent amount through promoted listings. It’s definitely been worth my time to add promotion to all my listings. Vast majority sells without promoting but there is still a decent chunk that sells through promotions. My items are usually rarer so I don’t usually promote over 3% If I buy something that turns out to not be very rare I will promote higher

The free shipping point is interesting. I know a store in my space that offers free shipping and does very well however majority don’t offer it. I’ve tried offering it and my sales decrease. So I stay away from it plus shipping is a small profit center for me as well.

I think the negative feedback from having immediate payment on best offers is as of right now if you set your store to only taking offers with immediate payment the buyer must input their credit card information before they can even send an offer. That one extra step can cause a buyer to look elsewhere or decide to not send an offer at all. Especially when you don’t have a rare or sought after item. I initially thought it was a great feature but decided against using it when I heard this. Because I sell collectables I don’t have a huge problem with non paying buyers. It happens sure. If I have something I’m worried about prices rapidly changing I won’t add offers because I may need that item to move quickly You really have to look at each item individually. As well as what you sell. Great video. If you have a relationship with eBay could you please mention they REALLY need to add return shipping from international sales. It’s beyond ridiculous we as sellers have to arrange shipping our items back and it’s a huge loophole international buyers can potentially take advantage of because they know many sellers will just refund rather than go through the hassle. I recently had this issue with a buyer from Australia say something of mine “wasn’t as stated” but it was obvious they manipulated the photo. It was a huge hassle to get the item shipped back and the buyer ended up filling against their credit card company as soon as I paid to have it returned🙄 If it was simple that eBay purchased the shipped to get the item back it would discourage a portion of this. I have called and always hear “we are working on it”

I personally stopped free shipping as well, unless I think it will be beneficial. Top rated is a win in my book! Totally worth meeting the metrics. Towards the end of the video you mentioned about 1 day handling. I'm currently doing one day handling. Will I loose the extra discount if I have some items on 2 day handling? Is it an all or nothing or is it just on the 1 day handling sales?

Ebay sent a little message pop up when I was listing that said that 71% of like items sell with FREE SHIPPING. I thought that was a significant stat. Unfortunately, Ebays definition of like kind is way off so I'm not sure what to do. I tried free shipping on my jewelry listings to see if it increased sales. It did but I made much less money overall. The question became whether to sell less but profit more or to sell more but make less money. I decided to sell less and profit more.....but I may change tomorrow because such is the nature of retail. Adapt or die!

Not completely through ur video yet but have to comment on the 2% (now the min) promo. A wise person (an author) told us once...whenever you hear advice think about where the money is coming from or going to. Now, in this case...for you 2% ebay is taking this no matter what when you use it. So of course they are going to sell it. I tried it for over a year and I saw no difference between those sales and now not using it. I heard from other re-sellers that you only want to use this IF its a low sell through rate item - I.E. a dog. If its a dog, you want to add the promo rate to get it above the other dogs LOL. Otherwise you are just throwing money away as if you took that 2% and just discounted your item by that 2% and that also bumps the item up. I do not use the promo rate on anything currently myself. I feel like ebay makes enough of my $ at this point. Ok back to work. I am trying to pack up sales. I had 2 on Mercari, 2 on one ebay store and 5 on another. Not bad for not using promo. On the other point, sell similar. Yes agree, if no watchers, no action, re-list it using the sell similar on ebay. Thanks for sharing with us!

I promote all listings at suggested rates and above. Fees are not that bad at all and really don’t worry about the fees as long as item sell everyday for a profit.

Selling on ebay is easy if you can can find high demand items regularly for low cost to sell for an under market price. Selling on ebay or any other platform is hard if you cannot find in demand items at low cost.

Last 2 months revamped all listing by sell similar and noticed from looking at all specifics, price and shipping alot of my prices had to be lowered due to amount of sellers and items now on Ebay. Can anyone tell me exactly what is the time referring to one day handling? I live on the East Coast and if someone buys something on the West Coast at 10.00 pm it’s already the next day where I live and I’m already late for shipping. This dilemma comes into play definitely when the person orders something on a Saturday and USPS isn’t open until Monday. How does one day handling work for weekends or Monday holidays? I would love to go to one day handling, presently 2-3, but afraid. I ship 90% of my orders same day or next day, but still keep my setting 2-3 days. Also weather, hurricane, has prevented shipping. Even though there was no flooding during Ian here, the distribution centers where I live couldn’t operate.

Handling time doesn't reflect holidays or weekends. If it's a natural disaster, you won't get "dinged" and if you do ebay should take off. But you definitely want to stick to your handling time. So if yoou cannot get to 1 day handling it's better to have reality handling they not meeting the handling times.

How do you sell similar without messing with your crosslisting app? If you go to ebay and sell similar you get a new item number. Now when you want to import those listings into your crosslister, all those old listings will be pulled in again. I would like to know how you are going to handle that aspect. I use flyp right now and they have a delist relist feature but it has not been working properly.

Promotional listings for antiques or older collectibles is not worth the costs. Tried it for a year and only got one sale off it but can’t confirm that was why it sold. Might be worth it on clothes or modern collectables? Since these markets are over flooded

I have tired this and eBay says NO, I keep getting this error when trying sell similar. "This looks like a duplicate listing. You can not have more than one fixed price listing of the same item at a time. This also applies to identical auction listings with Buy It Now. See our duplicate listings policy for more information." I am not ending the listing because I do not want to lose the listing, I am simply trying the action your suggesting.

It does have a watcher but that person may have the option that shows they are watching turned off. I’ve had items that had 95 watchers but only 1 interested buyer when I sent the offer. On the flip side I’ve had ones that where the item says it is best offer eligible but no interested buyers show up yet I could still send offers. I think there must be some kind of option whether or not you want something your interested in to show up as watched or not. I’m not sure about this but it happens to me often

Watchers mean nothing. I’ve had had a jacket listed for months that had 9 watchers. Ended and did sell similar, immediately got 9 watchers again. Ran a sale AND sent a coupon, also have OBO on. No buyers. I’ve also done promoted listings on several items for months, ZERO sales on those items. I also had one day handling on. Buyer purchased an item in the evening. I went to ship early next morning and eBay striked my account for “late shipment”. Happened twice so I had to switch to 2 day handling. eBay is shady!!!

Sell Similar has never worked for me, I also feel it's taking a chance that when you do that you are in bulk listings which can and have just made your listings just disappear. I always hold my breath when doing sell similar. It's not worth the risk, I have heard to many horror stories of people loosing 200 listings at a time trying to do sell similar right in the middle of the relist this item the page just goes blank.

eBay is the last platform I will sell on. Here is why? Buyers normally pay way less on eBay compared to other platforms. eBay does not pay you right away. eBay fees are too high. Final value fee plus promoted listing etc is normally between 20-25% eBay is super protective for buyers not for the sellers. Overall it’s not worth time and effort only to get a 1-5 $20 profit sales which can all wash away if you encounter few returns. Overall, it takes away so much precious time which I would rather spend with my family.

My asp on eBay is higher when I have all my inventory in both platform. Ebay can pay right away I’ve never had eBay pick a buyer side and not protect me. Top rated status offers lots of protection My fee are compatible to posh. Slightly higher now as I mess with promoter more. But in average my category is lover eBay has the largest buyer base

I only sold on eBay for a month and my experience was not great. They restricted my account after a week because someone was unable to verify my information. When I called customer service, it only took 5 minutes for them to verify everything while I was on call with them. So why would eBay restrict my account saying information I provided can’t be verified while they did not even made an effort to verify it. Then I was promoting almost everything 10% in electronics like cameras and remotes which have high sell through rates and for 2 weeks I had no views and no sales which in my local market I was able to make over $2000 selling same items with minimum effort. This just shows that new sellers have no visibility to buyers in eBay. My items were listed and promoted but no one was seeing them because eBay was not marketing them for me. Never the less, things started to pick up after 2 weeks and I was able to sell around $3K in first month but all my payments were on hold because per eBay I have no sales history with eBay and they will hold my payments for a month. And funny enough, they restricted my account again after a month saying that they need a proof that I have shipped all the items I have sold. I bought all my shipping labels through eBay and they had tracking numbers within the eBay system and 90% of items were shipped same day, delivered within 3-5 days and even got great feedback from customers. I called eBay again and they said they will look into it and it will take 24-48 hours for them to look into this matter. Mean while, all my listings were taken down. And I know even if they allow me to list again, it will again take 2 weeks to get any attention from buyers. Overall, eBay lost a good seller. I requested them to release my holdings after their verification process is over and to close my sellers account. I simply can’t work with them because they are unreliable and can ban you anytime they want without any reason. That to me is a recipe for disaster. And buyers on eBay love to negotiate. I can sell similar item at much higher price in my local market and don’t have to pay eBay free money. I started do amazon FBA which is lot better and less headache. And amazon is much bigger than eBay. I don’t have to worry about storing items, shipping items etc. only doing wholesale of branded items and amazon pretty much takes care of everything. My workload is 90% less and profit margins are 60-70% more compared to eBay. If eBay works for you thats good but for me, the experience was not great. I am happy not to waste my time and energy for minimum profit on eBay.

Regularly I end items that I know sell and it may have several watchers and I have sent offers with no conversions. I have ended ad, sold similar, and items regularly sell within 24 hours. I have been doing this for 5 years. TRS+ - Also, consider taking returns.

@@SarahStylesLLC 25 days, max. When the algorithm was updated about 6 months ago, I noticed things would sell that had no views. So, items selling, but no views. Weird!! I began ending some after 2-3 weeks with no views and would get sales within 24 hours. I surmised that, perhaps at the time of listing this item, there was a glitch in the system, and that ad would be aligned with those glitches. So, by starting anew, you’ve ridden your ad of the glitches; and the ad would be more accurate, and in line with the present algorithm. I am 99% promoted. Unless you are the only ad with a hot item, promotion works Best.

I don't have pay immediately marked on my listings because I'm thinking of the person who wants more than one item and get a multi-item shipping discount. I sell things at all weights and sizes--so it's not like I can just have an auto discount in there--I go in and send an invoice based on that. For example, if you buy a tiny item with your heavy purse I'm going free on your tiny item -- if you buy a purse and a sweater I can't do that--yes, you will get a discount--but it won't be free. A short time ago someone sent me an offer and I got a message that said if I take the offer the person has authorized that I will be paid immediately. When I took the offer that is what happened. So they do have some people paying instantly.

I have immediate payment and i still get multi item sales. I think they are using the cart. eBay does not combine the shipping correctly though. I just pack up the items and then refund what i think is fair. I think I would get more sales though if the Shipping combined correctly.
