Agreed, Palia has the most work to do to win me back too. I do love the story and characters, I want to delve deeper into that. Needs more areas too, my play time in that game became far too predictable, farm the (limited) garden, run one of a handful of resource loops until farm is ready again.

I’m so sad about Palia. I used to love it and I just can’t handle all the glitches when trying to play with my sister. I also can’t afford most of the premium items so I feel a little left out with the updates 😢

Literally playing Palia right now and I couldn't agree more, I do hope the Elderwood update releases early of this year and perhaps somewhere in the near future there will be an update about going to the Capital while imagining how big the area is! I also hope we meet new characters along the way as well so we can either be friends with them or find romantic relations with them!

That’s literally my 3 “wants” too! Lol I haven’t tried Coral Island, which is shocking for me. It looks really fun, but it seems a bit overwhelming and I’m not a fan of the graphics. Route of Pacha is a blast and so unique. I have tons of hours in it and need to go back and finally get married and just finish up! Dave the Diver is one of my fav games ever and I have like 80 hours in it and still need to finish the very end and a couple of the DLC’s. 😊

I love dave the diver i played the demo it on the nintendo switch i didnt end up purchasing it because there was no new content at the time now that its going to be more i definitely have to play it

I've had Cozy Caravan on my Wishlist but have been waiting for 1.0 from the start, since I can tell it's the sort of game to play once through and likely wont take long(which I actually like, it's nice to finish a game sometimes). Surprised to see enshrouded in a cozy list. I have it on my list as a survival game but don't play much survival lately. May need to revisit actually buying it sometime. I just tend to loose interest in them fast since I don't play with others and there usually is not much of a story to them. I need those story goals. I already returned to Roots of Pacha in anticipation of the coming update. I never left Fields of Mistria, just slowed down.

Enshrouded makes me think of survival and base buildings more than cozy as well. It reminds me of Conan Exiles but with farming. My hubby and I play a lot of survival games together and Enshrouded is on his wishlist as well, so I may need to actually check it out now. I didn't know about Roots of Pacha getting an update until I saw this video. It's a great game! Looking forward to that now :D

Coral Island, Fields of Mistria, Go-Go Town, Palia and Lightyear Frontier are all sitting around neglected on my PC (Dinkum too, but you didn't mention it). I really will get back to them this year...as long as Infinity Nikki doesn't have too many updates. Thanks for reminding me other games do exist!

Dinkum was actually on my initial list of titles to research for the video! I only didn't include it because I couldn't find any concrete plans for 2025 at the time. Really hoping for the full release and console ports this year though! (And yes, I feel you on Infinity Nikki )

I finished Dave the Diver and can't wait for new DLC. I am back to Coral Island and I want to go back to Enshoruded. Last week I introduced game to a friend it is such a good game Palia lost me. I didn't play last year and I deleted from my pc. I am waiting for 1.0. I have hope but we will see

I've been interested in Cozy Caravan since its trailer but I'm always skeptical with Early Access games. While I understand why the developers need the money upfront, I still don't like the idea of buying an 'unfinished' game. So I'm with you on waiting for its final release. I bought Dave the Diver the game pretty early and then they added so many new contents afterwards, but, like.. I've already 'finished' the storyline. I got other games to play, so..maybe the dlc will help me get back into it. I remember REALLY enjoying Dave the Diver, would lose sleep just to keep playing. Nowadays, Nikki is taking over my life. How do you choose to play which cozy games you have in your library? Especially since all of them are trying to get your attention. Eventually cozy games kinda overlaps in terms of gameplay, especially the farming ones.

I've looked at Cozy Caravan but it hurts my eyes. It looks like it's in a perpetually low FPS drop. Edit: Great video! I own 6 of them and had 2 wishlisted (yes, I am following Cozy Caravan in case the graphics get better), and 2 I hadn't heard of at all that look amazing. Great news all around for upcoming updates. @@kylacrossing2081 I watched a lot of stop motion when I was young. Maybe the fact that they were claymation gave it a different effect than that done digitally. Out of curiosity I went and watched an old video and it did not give the same feeling that the Cozy Caravan does. That makes my eyes hurt and begins to make me nauseous if I look at it too long. If it was indeed meant to be stop motion style, then the devs probably won't change that and I can cross it off my follow list. Thanks!

I'm soo looking forward to Fields of Mistria. I just don't do early access at all, so I haven't played it yet. I'll wait until the official release. Coral Island is one I still want to get, but I'm waiting for more updates to flesh it out. I tried Palia on Switch and it didn't play well. It wasn't enjoyable, so I gave up. I'd consider going back to it, but I'm hooked on Infinity Nikki and I don't care for MMOs. I'm a single-player person. Having said that, I loved the house decorating aspect. One of the most fun I've had with customizing furniture and the house. But they're planning to add houses to Infinity Nikki so I still don't see Palia pulling me back in. But I hope it gets better for those who are enjoying it.

I would just prefer if a lot of the games could be released on pc and consoles.. i get it takes more to release it on more platforms.. but as someone who doesn't have a pc i hate when games are only on steam

@@muxcki I don’t know if you’ve considered getting a steam deck but I highly recommend saving up for one if you can. Most cozy games are steam deck compatible

@ hahahaha, respect that. I mean it’s basically a mini computer, BUT yeah if you can just save and get a PC that’s always the best option. Even games that aren’t made for PC can often be emulated on PC so it will always give you the most flexibility on games you can play

I started Enshrouded shortly before Infinity Nikki came out and completely consumed all my gaming time. Now that I've finished the main story of Infinity Nikki it might be time to revisit it. I feel like Infinity Nikki has ruined other games for me though and nothing is as fun. I'm hoping when Hello Kitty drops at the end of the month it will help fill the void.

They really need to get the Switch gaming and PC gaming integration fixed on Palia and that isn't going to happen until Nintendo gets their s*&t together and optimizes their system. Hopefully with the release of the new Switch 2 it will have upgraded the memory and access speed so it isn't so clunky. I know there would be an uproar from the Switchies if they split the game servers into Switch friendly with components that are fully optimized for the Switch's capabilities without the drawbacks of throttling the PC gamers, and a dedicated bank of servers fully optimized for the capabilities of PC gaming. That would solve the janky Switch play and all the PC users upset about lack of more storage, more flower/decor/design options, faster less buggy gameplay and a host of other bugs. I don't think most people realize how hard it is to mesh a handheld system's parameters with a PC's. That's why I try to ignore the bugs because I'm aware of the difficulties the devs face and the incredibleness of what they have accomplished so far.

Early 2025 for Elderwoods has moved to Q2, 2025 as of today. Which is another frustrating note. Especially since they've made it clear, they're not pushing much content because of working on that. So we don't get proper content for potentially 12 whole months? That is also incredibly unacceptable. They needed to find another investor and keep it behind closed doors for at least another year before their beta. Sigh.
