Your teacher must have been miserable. Mozart’s music for the Horn, although a little lighter than his concertos for the Piano or the Clarinet, are real gems.

@@zevyzions My biggest mistake with this piece was not starting to sooner. I got assigned when I was only 13 and the music looked daunting to me, so I was scared of the piece. Nobody should ever do that.

In high school I took a semester of music. The professor gave me the French horn to practice. For one semester I lugged that case back and forth 16 blocks to school and back plus my books. I was never good at it.

I grew up with my dad’s Dennis Brain record of these Mozart pieces. They were my standard. I have never heard anyone come at all close till now. Great stuff. Lovely tones. Maybe Dennis is the Sarah of his generation.

Je connais mal l'œuvre de MOZART jouée mais infliger de souffler dans un cor à une bouche de 5/6 ans est inhumain. Singe savant montré au public. Quelle bouche et souffle aura t elle plus tard ? D'ailleurs je lis sur le visage de la fillette un rictus de tristesse du à l'effort de la gamine que certainement ses parents ou éducateurs lui ont infligé.
