Nice blaket/cushion when you have small tykes. For large dogs you would have to gather a year or more of scraps! LOL but it is a great idea especially for the car. Going to search for my scraps! Thanks for another great idea.

I have one suggestion do a Taylor's tack stitch in the corners of the blanket to hold the towel in place during wash and travel I love making double strand projects they're always so interesting to see how they come out

Hi Brenda sorry to be rude and ask but what do you mean by a Taylor's tack Stitch? Also I am from the uk and I have brought my Dogs a cool mat so going to do it double sided like a pillowcase so I can put the cool mat inside in the summer when we are traveling in the car that's if we are not still in lock down x

great idea.....I have five cats and have crocheted them many blankets. Now if you are crocheting it closed, does the towel not move around and get messed up in the wash and dryer??? Or we could leave it open and always make sure the towel is straight. I just know from washing pillows and other such things they get messed up. Oh but wait thats usually with that white fiber stuff filling whatever its called.

Not had a problem with the towel yet. I wash my pillows all the time, never had a problem other than the case wearing thin.

michelle schafer You could always put a few stitches at the towel corners to hold them in place. This is a great pet blanket/cushion. The towel will be so much easier to wash. I had ones with foam inserts and they were always a problem to wash.
