I really appreciate the timestamps and descriptions in the video! And I know it doesn’t matter for anybody that’s not a local, but it’s spelled Phillippi Creek.

@@miloruffing2291 I’m really glad the oyster bar wasn’t hit too hard. There seemed to be so much sporadic flooding with some areas and subdivisions flooded while neighboring subdivisions and areas remained ok. Definitely the worst flooding I’ve seen since I was a kid when it flooded really bad in 1991. We helped clean up a house off of Lorraine Road and Palmer today, the entire neighborhood had flooding, such a devastating scene seeing everyone throwing out their stuff.

During Ian Sarasota, sent a lot of resources to North Port. My parents live there, and I spent 2 weeks there helping with sustainment and recovery. It is awesome to see North Port returning the favor.

North port is in Sarasota county that’s the main reason

NY and Quebec had flooding from the same storm, not just a Sarasota problem

Oh wow. How is Tropical Storm Debby treating you guys up there? You guys have sewers overflowing yet? After about the 15th hour of rain here we could see black water coming out of the manhole covers and storm drains because the system was so inundated and the ground so saturated. I hate to see this devastation elsewhere.

It flooded many areas up the east coast, but it started in Sarasota with 18 inches of rain falling Sunday and Monday. This has never happened to this town before. Also, it was from a tropical storm at least 90 miles away, out in the gulf.
