This was quite possibly the best video I have ever seen. I don't normally click these kinda of things because it's usually clickbait bullshit fakes, but you are real as fuck. Edit to add: I especially liked the part at the end of the video that had nothing to do with the rest of the video where you called out homeowners having shit all over the place. Bravo

Home inspectors are the bane of our existence. Some know what they're doing, most of them don't and just want to give you a hard time for absolutely no reason. My aunt's house recently failed occupancy inspection when she was about to close on selling it. Why? The T&P on the water heater was literally half an inch too short from the ground. Guy actually measured it. I just threw a sharkbite on it to make up the extra distance and he passed it when he came back out. But held up the whole process a good 2 weeks because of that. Something that doesn't even matter. Infuriating. The buyers were mad too, they had to live in a hotel for another 2 weeks because super inspector was on a power trip. As for having to replace completely fine shut-offs, that's something I've come across too. If one shut-off is bad, the inspector will want you to replace all the shut-offs in the same bathroom regardless just to give you more work to do for no reason. Their logic is if one shut-off went bad, then all the shut-offs will be going bad soon too so they must be replaced as well. You can argue all you want why that's not true but the inspector always has the last say whether he's wrong or right. Especially if it's an insurance inspector.

@godsmacking99 I feel bad for the homeowners, they have to pay me,for work that doesn't need to be done. BULLSHIT!

@@johnphillipsplumbing7148 Exactly. The whole inspection process is bureaucratic red tape nonsense.

You can, and should litigate that practice of fraud. Take that evidence to town hall where they enforce that. That is a huge deprivation of rights. Seems like an easy argument to me but what do i know, im just a dumb plumber.
@Mustangg162 ай бұрын
Of course a plumber would say the valve is good. Its insurance! When i lived-in Florida and did water damage claims, it was always the washer hoses. With the losses the insurance company takes, why not. And this yahoo is using a shark bite!!!
@johnphillipsplumbing71482 ай бұрын
@Mustangg16 your problem with sharkbites is what? You do realize that every water termination in the house is controlled by o-rings,when installed properly,sharkbite fittings work,it's undeniable, code approved. Oh,your a copper guy,that's never flooded a house,get real. Stop carrying WATER for a corrupt insurance industry,with home inspectors WHO ARE in bed with them,PUN INTENDED,YAHOO!

I don't have respect for some inspectors. Some don't know what they are doing. Those valves looked good to me

This shouldn't be on the inspector, it should be on the insurance company.

John, just a question, I heard you say you wouldnt have used the 1/2" compression? Is it just personal preferance?

Yes,Hader to put on,and I'm concerned about the age of the cpvc,25 yrs old and brittle. You need to be delicate with it!

I saw a video today and guys insurance company dropped him because he selling the. Don't want to be held liable from all the people coming to see the house

The home inspector should run the faucet, then shut the valves off. if the water stops they're good. It's not rocket science
@johnphillipsplumbing71482 ай бұрын
Then every valve in the house would be guaranteed to leak,cycling 25 year old valves is tricky business. I never turn them off,I use the main shutoff on the outside of the house.

4200 dollars for the tree o my god brother

Some things you can't put a price on. You get what you pay for and the tree company were professional, hasty, and I will bet money that ol' sunshine here , slept like a baby sawing logs all night.

4200 was cheap. Those poor guys doing all the work on the ground got screwed. No way did they get paid a decent wage for that job.

Yessir! And you’re right man that’s a DAMN SHAME, that angle stop looked perfect. Nothing wrong with rough brass finish, so what if it’s not shiny and new it will outlast any new valves being produced these days. Especially these junky 1/4 turn ball valve stops that they’re trying to push on us to use. I hate them with a passion
