I'm glad I found this, these tips were beyond helpful to me, especially because I have never played the original, this was my very first time playing re4. If I wouldn't have found your guides on both the challenges and the regular maps, I don't think I would have been able to complete these, I got the handcannon and the chicago typewriter thanks to this guide and regular maps guide that you did, thanks a bunch your guides were super helpful, I almost got 5 stars on the deadshot challenge too, I missed the 5th time due to my shaky hands when I was 2000 points away ;-; I at least got 4 stars though. Super Salvador scared the life outta me.

As for challenge 20 its good to know that the weapons are nerfed, Hunk wasnt working for me because of just how many bullets I needed to pump, I'm not very good at abusing his melee. Wesker should be a bit better but I think I'll try Krauser first, since I love bows and the challenge that leaves you with no more than 50 arrows already taught me to play him decently well.

I can't begin to say how much this guide helped me. I have 11 stars left, ten for the last two challenges and just 4 stars for Time Rush (damn that's a hard one). Thank you so much for making this! Edit: finally got 100 stars! Time Rush was the last one. Just got 5 hourglasses at a time and kept up the combo.

@@jaycobeezy2323 You don't need massive combos anyway, they help but with infinite enemies so long as you can average combos of around 20 or 30, complete with the 3 bonus chests, then you get there in the end. But I'm glad my guides have been a help ^^

Changing my height offset made all the difference with the knife fight. After multiple failed attempts I found this video, changed the setting, and had 5* in 2 tries with plenty of time to spare on the success run.

24:16 This is far in a way the challenge I come back to the most. You could just headshot the amount you need to get a quick 5 stars and bullshit the rest of the time. Or you can try your accuracy and timing and shoot for a massive score. The skill ceiling is super high and it makes you feel amazing for keeping a combo going and not missing.

great guide! following your tips it took me only a few days to complete the challenges for 100 medals. I also used the challenges to help myself 5 star the classic mode levels using whichever player I got 5 medals on where it's closest to the classic mode. Gonna try professional mode next.

@@Sarcosuchas just beat Pro mode on VR. man, that wasn't anywhere near as difficult as I was expecting. I only died twice but it was complete carelessness on my part, and I think the Salazar boss fight glitched or something on my first try, he was being a sponge for my magnum bullets and killed me in two hits, but second time he went down super fast without getting a single hit on me.

i’m so dumb. So i decided to suck it up and do challenge 4 for hours until i got 5 stars, which i did end up doing but then when i entered my ng+ save it was laggy as hell so i ended up deleting re4 vr and redownloading it thinking it would save my progress but when i logged on EVERYTHING WAS GONE. my mercenaries challenge stars were gone all my saves all my money and my infinite handcannon all gone. so i decided to just play mercenaries first then the story so i unlocked the handcannon and now i’m focusing on one challenge at a time until i get 5 stars and WOW i’m already at 95 stars i just have to do untouchable then i can finally start doing story. but it got me pissed it just happened but i’m glad i’m doing well again.

39:38 Interesting tidbit: I did this challenge with Krauser, and got grabbed from behind by one of the zealots, but I didn’t get a game over. I guess it’s because a grab from behind didn’t do damage? I was confused, but blessed at the same time because it happened on my 5 star run.

I surprisingly managed to 5 star Untouchable with Ada after a couple of tries. You never want to underestimate crossbow Zealots, especially considering how often they spawn. Also another thing, it could just be my imagination, but I'm pretty sure if you are grabbed from behind it shouldn't instakill you.

If you're grabbed from behind you don't take damage unless hit, in which case it leaves you with 1HP. I wasn't aware that they didn't alter this feature for Untouchable

It's the action button, just like in the original versions. And yes, every character has 2 melees.

@@Sarcosuchas The Oculus Quest 2, VR version is my first experience actually playing Resident Evil 4, and it is awesome!!! It’s also my first time playing in “Mercenaries“ so please be patient and forgive my ignorance. It looks like I’ve managed to figure out how to use Krauser‘s roundhouse kick melee, but that’s it. For the life of me I just can’t figure out how to use Wesker’s super strong punch melee, or any of the other special moves you mentioned, with the other characters. I guess what I’m asking you is: if I’m playing as Wesker, do I need to soften up these soulless bastards to execute a melee?? If so,how?? I’ve tried slashing them in the face then hitting the “action” button but no luck…. Do I need to shoulder my weapon before trying it out? Do I need to shoot them in the leg? Do I need to sneak up behind the Ganados for his 2nd melee attack - or does each character need to wound a Ganado victim in his/her special way for a successful Melee?? Finally, will a little pop-up controller button appear on the VR version when the character’s melee is ready to go?!! Or do I have to judge the wounded Ganado for myself and guess If I’m in the right place at the right time?? THANK YOU SIR!!!!

@@michaeldonnelly2977 A button command will always show when a melee is possible. All characters use the same prompt and set up. Shooting or slashing a ganado in the head/face (so they are visibly stunned by stepping back and holding their face) will allow you to use the head melee. Shooting or slashing them in the leg so that they kneel down will allow you to use the leg melee. Check out some of my videos of either VR or the original version to see how this works.

The enemy has to be stunned from the knife slash, so they have to be grabbing their face and stumbling back.

Keep the combo up as you go, the combo and bonus chests are what's going to give you the points faster. You'll need to constantly keep moving towards the timers too; and remember you can hold a timer in your hand before collecting it and activating it.

No, they don't stack. As explained at the start of the video, the chests replace the regular combo bonus with 1,000. So, the 12th ganado in a regular combo would be worth 1,000 (300 + 700) But during a chest that same ganado is worth 1,300 (300 + 1,000)

As explained in the scoring system section, no, it doesn't. In non VR the bosses shouldn't be killed during bonuses chests, but in VR they can be and you still receive their full combo score
