I just hope he doesn't have too much confidence in his filmmaking abilities and ends up abandoning his channel and losing everything he's worked towards. I respect him for wanting to follow his passion though and taking the plunge. Who knows, maybe he'll direct/produce a great short film, but his others have been bad except for the one about pasta and bolognese sauce... even then... "How did they get all the explosives under the bridge?" "How did they get all the explosives under the football field?" Ummmm, the Joker blew up an entire hospital, & rigged Rachel & Harvey with their own explosives, & rigged 2 boats filled with people. The problem isn't HOW Bane did it, it's the fact that (unlike the Joker) we don't really care about anything going on. So out of boredom we start nitpicking.
@Tamacat3886 жыл бұрын
When nobody was looking. Duh. For real though I think that's less of a real complaint in Ruses than Dark Knight. At least Bane has dozens of dudes who got some kind of special forces training. Joker just had himself and literally only other crazy people from mental hospitals helping him. What he pulls off in that movie makes no sense. At least I can bullshit away that Bane his dozens of special forces duders can set bombs while nobody is looking because the police force is lax during their grand peacetime. That doesn't really excuse it though... TDK has A LOT of major plotholes that kind of bring the movie down from being something spectacular. I still really like it but I think there's a fair amount to criticize in all of the Nolan Batman movies.
@juneradar6 жыл бұрын
I didn't have to *try* to be bored because I was naturally bored. & I WAS interested in the previous films. You see I don't have a problem with TDKR being worse than TDK. Most movies that I love aren't as good as TDK. The problem I have is that even when you set TDKR apart from the rest of the film series & just judge it as a singular film, I personally find it to be very convoluted & unintriguing.

From what I’ve been able to gather, there was no “original version” of dark knight rises that included the joker. Heath ledger died before the release of the dark knight and Christopher Nolan originally wasn’t going to come back for a third. By the time he did the dark knight had been out for at least a year, therefore the joker’s absence was a forgone conclusion.

The biggest achievement that I think Jacobs Ladder has is that is puts you in the head of the main character so vividly. You fully understand Jacob, and you kinda go crazy with him. The world of this movie, is so freaking full of dispair, and I DID NOT want to stay in the world of this movie. I wanted out as quickly as possible. That may count as a potential flaw in the film as well, atleast subjectively. But on the other hand, the atmosphere was crafted so well objectively, that I can't help but think of it as a positive element of the movie critically. I felt like it was a bit too long, and maybe some things could have been cut out. A small nitpick is that the credits are at the beginning. That part definitely felt dated. Favourite lime of the movie was during what I think is that key moment of the film, the doctor says that the demons are actually angels depending on how you look at it. If nothing else, this movie definitely will stick with me for the rest of my life

I think the thing with the lawyer was him being told that he didn't have a case to sue the guy who killed his kid, which probably led to a mental downward spiral, which probably led to his divorce with Sarah. The pit while it still does not make a whole lot of sense in the grand scheme of things I'm pretty sure it's supposed to represent the Lazerus Pit from the comics. In the comics the pit is literally a pit of green goop stuff that brings people back from the dead and Ra's al Ghul uses it to essentially have internal life. Nolon's whole idea for this trilogy was Batman set in as real of a world as possible. So that's why the prison was a pit because the idea is by escaping the pit it's almost symbolic of rising again or being "reborn".

They're a big inspiration for me and I loved TRSHE series. 1:04:37 so about the wife. There are actually some scenes that were cut out of the film I'm not sure if there's an extended version, but I looked them up later finishing the movie, and to add to the confusion, the wife was actually revealed to be a projection/reflection of the main character it was just an illusion. Look it up. They way I interpreted it was that when the wife left it was him leaving himself or his physical body leaving him.

37:56 I don't know much about this but the prison is a reference to the Lazaerus Pit in the lore of Batman. It belonged to Ra'as Alghoul (i think i misspelled his name) and he used it for bringing himself back to life or to restore himself or anybody he wanted to save from death. The pit is what made Ras immortal. In this movie the pit is transformed into a metaphor for Bruce/Batman's rebirth after he got his ass handed to him by an asthmatic bodybuilder. It's an interesting twist/callback to the comics but it's not really shown well enough.

It was a pretty big twist when it was revealed that he never left Vietnam; pretty effective, I thought. Jacob's Ladder has a deleted scene that takes place near the end, in which his girlfriend Jezzie appears in his ex-wife's house and starts telling Jake that "It's over" as her body starts contorting and she slowly begins to transform into a monster while a veil is covering her face. Jake approaches her and removes the veil revealing himself underneath. I really do feel that this scene should have been kept in, because Jezzie is the only person who is in this distorted reality with him, that he didn't know before the war. She's the only "new" person if you will, who became a part of his life after the war. Since the ending shows he never made it home from Vietnam, I think it was a big mistake to delete that scene it adds a lot to Jezebel's character and makes the audience think about what her role in the story really is. Considering the name Jezebel has many biblical connotations, as does "Jacob's Ladder" in the bible, and the talk of angels, demons, and Hell, that one 3 minute scene would've added a lot, because it would've given the film a proper climax, instead of it feeling like the movie just kind of stops.

Got to agree with Ralph on TDKR, it’s a good movie and shouldn’t be criticized over technicality and the action etc because none of that shit really matters. It’s about the ending of a trilogy that had a huge impact on cinema, and it succeeded in doing that I think.

I’ma miss the series, but you go make content that you enjoy more. When you’re enjoying it, it makes the series 100% better

Ralph now that KZbin has the sponsorship option maybe that’s a way to get support for new projects without having to do a patreon. For example Markiplier is doing short films and projects and he has sponsorships to support those projects

When they mention how he physically beats bane in the end. Batman trains in the jail to beat him so he does train and buff himself up to beat bane in the end.
