Yes indeed. I also vaguely remember one of the parish priests talking to my parents, at a weekend festival, with a 'scotch on rocks' in hand. I had no problem with that. And yes, I was an altar boy. And no, I was not molested. Good times, really.

" Don't buy Gold , Buy a Shovel and CANNED Goods and 1 very important part buy a CAN OPENER . " Didn't they have ' UNDERGROUND BUNLKERS ' as all the rage back in the early 1980's in the U.S., for the ' ELITES ' ? Those ' BUNKERS ' still exist to this very day . They're there waiting for the time that they'll be needed and YOU'RE NOT INVITED , I didn't see YOUR NAME on those LISTS . President Joe Biden is still in Office until January 2025 , So you still have a ' LITTLE ' time left to get your name on 1 of those lists , not much time being that this now 2023 , It could happen ANYDAY NOW , You might get a slightly more amount of time If Old Joe thinks he could get re-elected in 2024 . So maybe like 6 years to 6 minutes , could happen any day now .
@Grimenoughtomaketherobotcry Жыл бұрын
Don't know if you were alive at the time, but there was very real fear that Reagan or the Soviets might miscalculate and blunder into a nuclear war. Poland was breaking free from Soviet domination, Central America and South Africa were boiling cauldrons, as was the Middle East, and in the UK Margaret Thatcher was in a death match with the trade unions, not to mention the IRA. Overtop of that was the US plan to station Pershing II and ground launched Tomahawk cruise missiles in Britain and western Europe, the Soviet's stationing of SS20 missiles in eastern Europe, and Reagan's decision to go ahead with the MX ICBM and Star Wars (SDI) programmes. There was plenty to be worried about. Kind of like today.
