Father Guido was introduced before SNL, on the Smothers Brothers show in the early 70s. He is one of the best and funniest clean comedians of all times.

Father Guido Sarducci is so funny. I would like to see him on SNL today, doing one of his hilarious skits, and wearing the same original costume he has on in this skit. He is one of my top five favorite comedians of all time. And yes, as someone said in these comments, he really is a comedy genius. Thank heaven, we get to enjoy him on KZbin anytime we want. He brings us to joyous laughter during these difficult Pandemic times!!

My favorite story from him was when he said he had the bill from the last supper. It showed that there were 13 people. 12 had a meal and a drink. 1 just had a drink. But it shows how they divided it by 13 to see how much each owed, so that one guy that just had the drink got screwed.

Years ago he flew to Roma in his priest costume, and the Italian Police were not happy when in Seminrhe tried to come into the Vatican. You know he should have been allowed to teach in seminary his show would have woken up the guys and realize you do not have to be boring in your homilies. Luved this guy

Think how popular church would become if we could listen to guy's like Guido Sarducci at the pulpit. When Fr. Guido visited Rome, the then Pope had him physically removed from the Vatican. Big mistake; he should have been hired as a consultant.

Yeah, I remember that on SNL. They started the show with that, then he'd pop up every few sketches to give clues. He'd point to a spot and say something like 'This is the sash of a certain pope from the 12th century who liked strudel'. The way he delivered it was funny, funny. funny!
