I bookmarked that CMO link! Love that! I like how you made a distinction between creating music and constantly putting out content. Mike Sarge Hey Mike, no, I’m not really sure as I am a very “eclectic” artist; I sing a lot of different types of music and in different contexts ... I guess I’m trying to find a target audience for 2 different things : 1) private events singer 2) an audience who will buy my music once it’s out there ... can you have 2 target audiences ?

@@MikeSarge I go through the same thing, it gets to a point where i'm thinking, do i want the money or do i just enjoy doing it? if i want the money, then i'll look at songs that are selling and by what artist and i'll copy their framework or, I do songs that I enjoy, find an artist with similar sound then focus on that. Me being a Westside Africa Nigerian, with almost 509 ethnic groups, its tough for me. The only music blowing up there is afrobeats, we have hip-hop but the afrobeat saturation bruh!! u hardly have space for hip-hop listeners and I don't like afrobeat, I like hip-hop and Afrohiphop fused with my language, and sometimes they don't even have the African genre on Facebook ads so u stuck lol Pls help.

the album I plan on releasing is a very obscure music genre, I know my target audience but since the community is so small, I can't find any of the music artists with something that straight up promotes there music. I tried talking to a record label that specializes in obscure music, the album is a very original idea and has not been done has far as I am aware. I'm not 100% sure how to promote it

If I have a budget of $1,000, am I splitting it up and advertising a little bit on Facebook, a little bit on Instagram, and a little bit on Spotify? Or do I just focus on one? Particularly the platform that pays more per stream/view?
@MikeSarge4 жыл бұрын
I would reccomend Facebook ads. You can run Facebook and Instagram ads from it. (Facebook owns Instagram).
@lifeofkms27504 жыл бұрын
@@MikeSarge I mean where should all my traffic be leading to? Like should it all funnel to my Distrokid, Tidal, Spotify or like a KZbin channel
@MikeSarge4 жыл бұрын
Really based on your goal. If you want to focus on the platform that will give you more per stream, research the stream rates.. i believe tidal pays the most. Distrokid is a distribution platform so I'm not sure why you would promote there

I'm so lost on this! I love all types of music and I have made funk, breaks, pop and hip hop music??? But I label myself as 'Pop' because I do a large range!! So far I've only released Breaks.
