Regarding memory and positive vs. negative ones, look up "negativity bias." Basically, mammalian brains are wired to pay more attention to negative memories because it's a protective device. Missing the flower by the side of the road isn't life-threatening, but missing the rustle in the bushes (which could be a tiger) may be. Making sure we have steady mental diets of positive input, though not *only* that, helps offset that bias. Memory keeping would be a great way to do that!

Hey Sarica, I can totally relate to being intentional to record/ journal happy memories. I went through a tough period when my partner and I moved to his home town to take care of sick parents. I didn’t know anyone and had to start a new life meanwhile he got completely enveloped into the care taking world and wasn’t someone I could lean on too much. It was a difficult time and we were in this place for several years. I found myself believing that everything was negative. So I decided to start a 2 page spread dedicated to each month where I would write a list or sentence or two to describe a good memory/moment/activity that happened that month. Each month I had lots of positive things to see that did happen and by the end of the year I had pages and pages of good memories. It was nice to focus on that.

Take A Note: First year using and really like it for memory keeping. I wanted to use it 2021 but it sold out. Yoseka Stationery finally began selling last year. I think you'll like it. It does use Tomoe River paper. Journal/Planner Line-up for 2023: Take A Note (Memory Keeping) Traveler's NTBK: Raw thoughts/Prayer Journal Lamy A5 Grid NTBK: Bullet Journal Lamy A6 Grid: Tv Shows/Books reviews Passport TN: Water Color insert (art Journal) I also began going back to minimal bullet journaling. I got lost in the "making it pretty". So happy to hear you're enjoying the holidays more and creating new memories. Again, Welcome back!

Journaling has helped me alot w/ my anxiety. I realize it's connected to my past & parents but I'm in a safe place now. I have positive affirmations all over my journals for reassurance.

Oh my goodness this was a lovely video ✨ I’m currently in the process of separating planner and creative pages into different inserts as my way of journaling changed. Totally get the idea of a writing journal and a separate collage journal 🤗

Sarica! Thanks for the great video! Yes, I totally understand the need for different journals. I have a mental health journal with sections like Fears, Reframing and Positivity. As, the titles imply, I just let all my fears have free reign on the pages, then I use the next section to see if I can reframe my outlook and then I use the last section to let my positive feelings have their own voice! I then fill my many other journals with collage, drawings, paintings and things of note I pick up along my day! I hope someday to be able to combine my deep feelings with my art journals and not care if someone sees it, but I’m just too protective of that part of me 😢😊. Loved your Halloween decorations! And, so happy to have you back on the Tube🎉❤

I’m currently using a 2023 hobo weeks mega both as a planner and diary. I made weekly layouts in the notes pages and using those as my diary. The weeks that already came printed is a planner. So far so great.

IWI Fountain pen inks dry fast, I think. Not waterproof though. They have quite nice color variations too. Water proof or resistance inks tends to dry slow, though, I use De Atramentis Document inks too. They dry fast amongst waterproof inks.

Loved the video! I have the opposite problem - my brain deletes bad memories and I only remember the good ones. It probably sounds like a nice problem to have, but I'm not entirely sure... Anyway, as a mom of a young child, I too totally get the whole lack of time and energy. What you're doing with what you have, is amazing though! Always looking forward to your next video whenever you get to making it 💚
