Hey I was wondering if you're able to help me, I'm replacing my top hat spacer now (it shattered like other people have dealt with and Saris mailed me a new one). The washer that goes behind the top hat, do the pointy bits that stick out on one side of it face into the trainer or out towards the freehub? Thanks for this video!
@Bigkidbird43 жыл бұрын
Pointy bits?🤔 there's a washer that sits deep against the bearing, then the top hat flat against that, then your freehub.

@@Bigkidbird4 thanks, yeah that washer for me has small thin square tabs that stick up off one side of the washer but like an idiot I didn't check which way it came off first. Only noticed them after I cleaned the grease off.

Thank you, Mitch. Much appreciated.

can you speak to a brand or style of grease? is there specific great from Saris, or a specific type to use?
@Bigkidbird4 Жыл бұрын
For freehub? No-specific.. id use a high temp so it doesnt get hot and seep.

Hi there! Thankx for the video! My Saris H3 has the same problem (its new and it came with the top hat spacer totally shattered in pieces...) Customer support is not helping and I can't find this part online anywhere... You know where to buy it? Thankx!

Sorry as i hear direct from Saris is the only option as of right now 😢 There is a Saris and CycleOps FB page though that may help you out.

@@Bigkidbird4 yeah but, they're not very interested in helping... I texted, emailed.. they suggested me to send the trainer back, wich would cost me more than the trainer costs... unbelievable...
@Bigkidbird44 жыл бұрын
Total bummer. They should be able to send parts unless they just don't have it in-stock. Maybe find a local machine shop to whip you up a top hat spacer.

@@Bigkidbird4 that's what I did, I'm taking it to a lathe operator later to see if he can make one

Awesome.. i think thats probably your only viable option as of right now. I know material has been a big topic lately of what it is made of. Cheers!

Mitch, I assume based on the look that your cassette is 11 speed? My 11-speed cassette has a significant amount of wobble when I reinstall it. Before taking it apart, the bike shop installed the cassette and left the 8-10 speed spacer on the hub without me knowing. I haven't seen any wobble from the cassette until now when I take off the little spacer. Should I just leave in on?
@Bigkidbird43 жыл бұрын
Yes, i would leave it on. A shimano mtb 11 speed is actually 10 speed width, but shimano Road 11 speed cassette is wider which spacer would need to come off.

@@Bigkidbird4 It is a shimano road 11-speed but seeing this much wobble, I'll just leave it on.
