1. priority should be what you enjoy, both playstyle and class fantasy. 2. offspecs, ease of finding dungeon groups, jumping into pvp, or just another dps spec depending on situation. Choose whichever makes you enjoy the game more, while a tank/heal offspec makes it easier to from groups, you could absolutely hate to tank/heal, instead you prefer to have another dps spec for optimal raid dps/parsing. 3. consider what other people will play and how much of a demand there will be for your class. 4. loot distribution, with the influx of new ret paladins, warriors always being popular and now DKs, plate and 2handers will be very contested gear. Most cloth gear is now shared between almost all healers and caster dps, while plate healing gear is only used by Holy Palas. This is just my opinion though, some people play whatever their guild needs and others have loot as their biggest prio.

DK is the best main to have. Can OS tank, S tier leveling because no mana and broken lifesteal, low weapon priority as frost (only 2 other specs use your bis), great dungeon farming and boosting as tank spec

Hey, either I missed something or your single target opener is inaccurate. it is not possible to get 2 Obliterates in before Empower Runeweapon since you will have 1 Blood Rune left that isnt converted yet. Instead of the second OB i think it makes more sense to cast a Pestilence and then Emp. Runeweap.

I came down here to check if anyone else thought this. I thought i was missing something, but yeah, you can't get 2 obliterates. I think it's 1, plus 2x Frost Strikes and then Empower Rune

yes you need to pestilence just before empower rune weapon into 3 oblits. you have 4 'safe' gcd's before you have to pestilence again and 3 of them are oblits so you have 1 gcd to use on a killing machine frost strike, if you get 2 or more killing machines you only use 1 and ignore the rest until you pestilence again as you wont have enough time to refresh. (for no epidemic build)

That opener wont work, unbreakable armor always use a frost rune first if available, so using blood tap where u described it wont work.

You’ll still have the death rune available for the obliterate, it’s not that it won’t work, you just can pestilence before you use blood tap on AoE pulls

Ive been leveling as frost blood sub and it's pretty awesome, just need to find another slow 1H but the crits are still deliciously massive and yea hit is your best secondary stat until the soft cap for the talent build I think he said 5% which isn't that much.

Hey, just a quick question since no guide mentions it explicitly: Do I ALWAYS prioritize Obliterate over everything else (when diseases are up)? For example: 1st situation: I have a Killing Machine proc and just used 1 Obliterate. Do I still use Obliterate or should I use Frost Strike? 2nd situation: I have a Rime proc. Still Obliterate? This might overwrite my Rime proc with another one, therefore wasting the first. So long story short: Obliterate no matter what or should you switch depending on procs? Some guides say you should do Obliterate->Filler (Frost Strike if Killing Machine/Howling Blast if Rime)->Obliterate->Filler->Obliterate and so on. Thank you or some pro commentators here in advance!

Been thinking about this as well and researched this myself. Frost requires split-second decisions from you as a player to decide what to use. You can’t play well by a rotation set in stone. As it stands rn in TBC with no Obliterate glyph the prio is KM FS>Obliterate. This may or may not change with Obliterate glyph in Wrath (or with longer fights) but this is what has given me most success in TBC. About Rime you should always use Obliterate over Rime-proc on single-target. Only use the Rime-proc if nothing else is available. The exception would be if there are three or more targets, but then you would use Howling blast over Obliterate either way. And if you have a KM proc as well, then two targets is enough for the double crit on Howling blast to do more damage than a single Obliterate, even if it crits.

You wanna make sure youre using a death rune for unbreakable and not a frost. So i obliterate until my runes are on cd then i blood tap and use that new death rune to unbreakable armor

So many wrong takes here. Blood sub spec isnt leveling build. Sub blood is GOTO spec untill you can get 258 ilvl weapons (when TOC comes out) until then you go sub blood. Also after you get 277ilvl + from icc thats the time you go back to sub blood. So for the start as frost dk in t7 and t8 u stick to sub blood

@@NLGwotlkclassic ofc not, BCB scales good with semi haste arp build with decent weapon. When you have 277 gear and you can get 100% arp without sacrificing all STR gems then you go sub blood again and go with sigil that increases your obliterate base dmg

Im just started playing frost dk, 4100gs.. blood subspec. Ive got a nextaction aura installed and generally up to speed on how to play frost dk pve. But im shocked that im not doing more then 3500dps.. granted im missing some enchants on my gear but still.. i was expecting to do 5500 ish at this point. I just dont get what im doing wrong.

3.5k dps in what scenario? Dummy? 5man? raid etc... nobody can help you without more info. best advice i can give you is to use warcraftlogs and learn how to check your logs and see what you did wrong and where you can improve. it is an amazing tool

@@rikyx8011 thanks for answer.. appreciate the help on trying to crack this problem. 3,5k dps was on the boss dummy at ebon hold using only self buffs. But ghoul doesnt attack the dummy though so that comes on top, also this is my sustained damage over time. I do get some higher damage when opening with all the cooldowns ready.

Just an FYI, 26 expertise makes it so you can’t be PARRIED not dodged. When attacking from behind you can’t be parried regardless so this is mainly for trash and boss situations that you can’t get behind

Your frost runes have to be on cool down man. If you have a frost rune up it will automatically use one. If your frost ones are on cd you blood tap and use the death rune in place of a frost

Doing that lowers your performance to what class and spec you are familiar with as well as playing. Micro managing guild always preform low and are bad players relying on other mean over skill level.
