We just did a review of this figure as well. And, like you, we called back to the Toy Biz one.

Hello, Excellent! Just got mine and it is awesome! Cannot wait to get Orthanc Devilry (Mine) and torch for my berserker :D

Wait…are you 3D printing a mine, or have you heard of an upcoming figure release?

@@noskillcustoms Oh it is the Staley Custom one - I have seen the 3D file online. But he is just master at painting it - he even added gun powder at the top. Highly recommend it - he ships worldwide

I think that soft goods would have fixed the robe issues.
@noskillcustoms6 ай бұрын
Yes, a fully posable figure under fabric robes would’ve been great! I think the fancy trim at the sleeves and opening scared them off- or maybe they don’t believe in fabric LOL.
@RC-88026 ай бұрын
@@noskillcustoms they could have glued plastic pieces on the fabric if needed

does diamond toys have made cloth figures before? i cant recall any

Perhaps swapping this head with the Toybiz FotR one would be an actually no skill custom option. I suggest that head because I find it considerably better than the TTW version

I like the idea, but I don’t think it scales correctly

Diamond select always failing to deliver on what we want. We keep telling them to use fabric and they keep pumping out plastic to the point where instead of listening to our feedback, they give us more plastic arms. Is it really that hard to use fabric, like at least give us a dam reason why for a $50 figurine you dont give us fkn fabric? Star wars black series does it and thats why its so successful. Designer of these needs to be fired asap

Yes, lots of questionable decisions over there at Diamond Select!

It's a $30 figure. If we used fabric, it WOULD be a $50 figure.
@WyvernLiАй бұрын
@@ToyFareZach will happily pay the 50 if it meant me not having to chop off the plastic and install fabric onto it

The overall body proportions and presentation of this figure makes me like it in my display more than the ToyBiz one, but that doesn't make it a good figure. I think as an action figure the ToyBiz one is better. The Diamond Figure is both massively overthought and underthought. Just a lot of baffling decisions.

Dang…you summed up all my Diamond Select reviews in 2 sentences!!! LOL

@@noskillcustoms I think Aragorn is an objective improvement on the ToyBiz ones. None of the ToyBiz Aragorns are any good. I also think Gollum is mostly an improvement over the ToyBiz figures. The rest have their pros and cons compared to the ToyBiz ones. Gandalf, Gimli, the orcs/uruk hai, the hobbits, and Sauron all have their merits that I think would make a lot of people prefer them over the ToyBiz ones. Boromir is similar to Saruman in that he looks good at a glance, but his tunic is hard as rock, joints are so tight and fragile, and he can't hold or store most of his accessories. He's like a bootleg of a better toy that never existed. Legolas and the Nazgul are trash.
@noskillcustoms6 ай бұрын
@@LochNessHamster Yes, yes and yes- I agree entirely…especially about the Nazgûl….no idea why he’s worth so much.
