Very keen detail about the 2 colors of SAS berets depicted here that the CoD developers thought about. The SAS was formed in Egypt and they adopted a beige beret (outside the army heraldry). they wore this unofficial beret throughout the North African and Mediterranean campaign as they were not subjected to any higher HQ and regulations. But when 2SAS was created in the UK and the original SAS (now designated as 1SAS) came to the UK to prepare for D-Day, they were forced to wear the maroon beret - as they were part of the I Airborne Corps. But some originals chose to wear the beige beret against regulations. When the SAS was re-raised in 1947 as 21st SAS Artist Rifles (TA) they again wore the maroon beret. In 1956 however the SAS officially adopted the beige beret again.

fun fact tho. Sgt. Doyle (the SAS you're playing as) used to be an Aircraft Gunner until it was shot down, and rescued by Major Ingram when he was stuck on a tree. Doyle then assisted Ingram with his mission, and Doyle really excelled. He impressed Ingram so much that Ingram actually made a recommendation letter for Doyle to be promoted and made into an SAS Operator.

Agreed. However, Doyle's character was an ex RAF Air Gunner in nineteen forty one. Having been shot down, and bailed out into enemy territory, he met Captain Price, and was involved in SOE lead resistance operations, before going on to the SAS. By D-Day, Doyle knew his stuff.

Back in world war it's pretty possible that even privates have better experience than a sergeant......it's possible maybe the corporal didn't get the chance to give exams to become the sarge.... Also if u played COD United offensive, you know Doyle is A Royale Airforce Plane Gunner Who later recruited By Major Ingram In SOE And SAS For His Good Demonstration in Field Duty But Ofcourse he has less combat experience than the others..yes He has the potential..that's it

Back in the original CODs even World At War most of the main characters you play as are random nobodies thrown into the battlefield, This is true in real war because most of those who did the job were mostly anonymous soldiers or whoever doing the fighting.
