This exact bow has been rebranded by at least one other company. It is also sold as the Sanlida Royal X8 Recurve Bow. SAS sells two completely different recurves on their website, both named Maverick. Chinese branding is often nonsensical.

Awesome reviews man, practical cheap bows and they all work great👍

This is an excellent bow! Not only for beginners but also for serious hunters. With #45 on it, this bow takes a deer in a pinch. It comes without all the bells and many whistles other bows may be equipped with, but it's a quality piece that shoots well, it is reliable, robust and meets the taste of someone who likes it more traditional. A pretty good choice for an affordable price.

Christian absolutely correct and I really cannot day enough things about the company as well!

Looks like a decent bow that'd probably also be an option for someone considering the Samick Sage. Great review, looking forward to learning more!

You know the fps? Have you since put fast flight string on it? It says 60 inch I’m 29.5 draw just starting ordered a 40 pounder think I can grow into it? It just looked so nice

It is a 60 inch bow not 58

Maybe S.A.S. has increased the length of the Maverick in the three years since you did this review, but it now measures 60" (not 58") overall. Thanks for sharing your experience with us.

Im just getting into archery and not sure what bow to get. From what I've been able to see i like the SAS maverick. Im 5'8 200 lbs. Im trying to figure out what pound of draw to get. I see it on Amazon goes up to 60lbs. Is there any downside on using higher weight pull vs lighter? Would be very grateful for any insights
@ArcheryGeek3 жыл бұрын
That is awesome! Please please get a 35# bow if you are just starting. You will upgrade in a year to maybe 45# but their is no need to go higher than that. If I were new I would buy an SAS sage off Amazon with 35 # limbs and order some 40# limbs for Christmas. You will enjoy shooting Trad so much more if you do that. Once you start to group with 40.. you can go to 45 but that’s all you need
@tonetone89803 жыл бұрын
@@ArcheryGeek would the sas maverick be a good one to buy? And when you say limbs is that for takedown bows? I know im probably asking stupid questions but like I said im brand new to this. Thank you for your help

What arrows are you flinging? I’ve had my maverick for almost 4 years. They are rated for fast flight strings. For the money, this thing has provided MANY hours of entertainment as well as a few meals from cottontail, jackrabbit, and rattlesnake.

What makes people call bows "beginner" bows
@ArcheryGeek Жыл бұрын
Great question. Think it’s cost mostly but feature set of the product would make it less beginner. Typically I don’t recommend anything over $200 for a beginner bow.
