I'm not the boil on a special forces soldiers bum, but I did do a brief stint in a fairly profession Regular Army and I really don't understand people that turn up at something like recruit training, corp training for an arms corps or indeed SF training and give up. I'm not saying they tried and did not meet the standard after they finsished I'm saying they just said "I thought this would be easy, but it turns out it is harder than I thought, so I want to go home". Blisters boohoo. Turned your ankle? Boohoo. I just don't get it. Like what do they think the army is about? Brylcream (hair gel), sunglasses and brews? Some people must live in cloud cuckoo land.

Hey Phil, what was it like having SBS guys on selection? Do they mix up your patrols so there's SAS and SBS guys working together?

There is no SAS or SBS during selection, everyone is treated as a Candidate. Its only after you've passed do you then move onto your units

@@rexwondo5429 as DS there are. So SBS DS overseeing SAS candidates and vice versa. And mixed candidate patrols. Some will be going to the SBS and others to the SAS

Id like to know the details of how many times you can try out for the SAS. Like is it two tries, you fail, then your barred for life or can you try 3 times? cause like, its not exactly the most normal sort of training out there and if someone says its easy then they lie to themselves.

If you get medically withdrawn that won’t count as an official try I believe as long as it’s on hills phase. So if you try selection 4 or 5 times but you get injured on all of them, you’ll still be able to come back.
