SAS Sells 10 Of Its Airbus A320neos

It’s not too often you hear that ‘neo’ generation aircraft are being sold. But that’s what’s happening over at Scandinavian carrier SAS. In early-March, the airline announced a sale and leaseback (SLB) agreement with lessor Aviation Capital Group (ACG) for 10 of its Airbus A320neos as it continues to seek favorable financing deals with aircraft lessors amid its restructuring process.

This is not a new strategy though. Indigo Airlines is also known to often sell newly delivered A320 NEOs to lessors followed by leasing them back. This helps keep their average fleet age relatively young.

@@mmm0404 Cuz the B747 have so many variants, from the 747-100, 200, 300, 400, 8I,SP, its cargo, military and many sub variants of it, they keep develop the 747 throughout many years, while the A380 doesn’t have any more variant than just A380.

What airlines that fly on behalf of SAS, like SAS link, SAS connect, Cityjet and Xfly. These airlines lease their aircraft with crew to SAS, and some of them to other airlines as well, but I don’t think they are airlines with their own routes
