0:04 On the contrary, I notice a resurgence in more professionals playing without shoulder rests, which seems to have spurred a need for new innovation in the industry. This model, I don't see that it does anything new. Even the very old Wolf models could be twisted and those could also be bent to have as much or little curve as you want.

Sorry to have to tell you, but I have all three models of the Pirastro Korfker shoulder rest, of which the most popular, wooden version weighs 1.149g and the composite version just 0.575g. Having tried all of the ones you review (the Kun was my favourite for many years until after the launch of the Korfker), I would not play on any of the reviewed ones again, unless I had to. The Korfkers, all three, are unrivalled in both comfort and sound. They really do free up the vibrations and resonances of the instrument. Adjusting them is not straightforward, but once done, never has to be done again. The composite model folds or collapses too, so can fit easily inside any violin case. In theory, it should have the best sound, but I find the wooden models better. The most expensive is attached to a unique frame which keeps the entire instrument free from touching the body or clothing, and the feeling of security, especially in downward fast passages is unparalleled.

Wow, that seems to be a good alternative to the Pirastro Luna. The price is absolutely great. I’d love to try the SAS one. I’m anyway loving my SAS chin rest. Why not an SAS shoulder rest addition? Thanks for posting the review.
