No single person or entity possesses ALL of the required information on all participant parties and organizations i.e. SAS, DELTA, etc. To REALLY simplify my argument: you have not a single shred of verifiable data to prove or disprove anything related to whatever metric you choose as "best." The 'best' publicly verified fighter jet in existence at this moment is the F-22 Raptor. It could lose to a crop-duster under rare circumstances. Respectfully, this statement is a false fallacy that cannot be verified because too many moving parts, shifting metrics and political attention and funding as well as downsizing in some countries. Seems like the Operator's will and determination is assured to win ANY encounter and that simply is not true. Logistics, politics, and other rarely debated boring stuff is why the present conflict ran totally contrary to EVERY prediction out there. Britain can punch well above it's weight class, but sheer numbers matter and all of that put together proves how "best" is different depending on the view from your location. Don't forget the Ghurkas as even the modern ones are regularly called terrifying and absolute masters in the art of killing humans according to the many, many Special Forces that go and train with the primary purpose being to being exposed to the Ghurka style of fighting because any insurgent faced after facing a Ghurka or Ghurkas will seem like a special needs individual playing make-believe war not realizing his death is moments away from the man who has been enlightened by the Ghurka. That's a summary of European country's head of special forces take on the Ghurka.

Why are people getting bent out of shape about what is obviously a production made with very little money that shows mostly things regular infantry are taught, you don't think they'd be stupid enough to go into that much detail on film? For starters, the enemy wouldn't have seen a real SAS hide unless they stepped on it, there was one at the end of Stanley airport runway all the way through the Falklands war that was never spotted.
@nacholibre19629 жыл бұрын
+jelkel25 Agreed, but that doesn't change the fact that tis vid is shyte! Which begs the question, why bother? Why didn't Davies advise properly for the vid? It's not like the SOPs are state secrets. This vid makes the lads loom like twats! Utter dross and a waste if time IMO.
@mrprototype4388 жыл бұрын
+Albert Head You do understand that the point of this video was not to teach SAS operational tactics, but to teach basic survival skills right? The plot dictated they needed to be captured so they set up, an all be it unrealistic, scenario where they were captured.
@nacholibre19628 жыл бұрын
Mr Prototype Not disputing that. Just saying the vid was utter dross!
@mrprototype4388 жыл бұрын
Albert Head But the purpose of the vid is to teach survival techniques in the event of things going arse up, not SOP or OpSec. So the plot dictated that they had to get caught, it is not like they are going to show how to counter a proper OP. They are going to show it being countered through a situation that those operators would never get themselves into. Because that is good OpSec. Don't show a potential enemy a real way to counter your forces.

@mrprototype4388 жыл бұрын
***** Thermal Imaging is infrared. FLR/FLIR stands for Forward Looking InfraRed. Night vision on the other hand is usually just a light amplification device. Any CAM that is that is environmentally appropriate would be low observable (LO) to light amplification (night vision) devices, after all if it is LO in normal light, then it would be even more effective in low light situations, even after going through a low light amplification device. But I'm still gonna have to call BS on AusCam, or any other in-service CAM being invisible against any IR (infrared) sensors... Sorry.
