I feel like my ex’s new gf is really benefiting from the years of work I put into him. He was definitely a fixer upper. Actually more like what I thought was a fixer upper but once you walked inside you realized that a hoarder of feral cats who also ran a meth lab had lived there before. The only reason I put all the work in (bc most of the work happened after we broke up) was bc I’m apparently really bad at remembering to take a pill everyday at the exact same time. Before getting on the pill I was unaware that you have to take it at the same time every day. I discovered that fact a little to late. But in the end I’m extremely happy I didn’t know even though it means I’m tied to this train wreck of a man through a child. But regardless of the reason I’ve put years of work into my ex. I recognized I can’t change him bc you can’t changed anyone, but I can gently guide him in the right direction while educating him on how to not be the kind of guy whose girlfriend leaves bc otherwise she might stab him in the penis repeatedly. I still find myself having to tell him things like, “you know telling your girlfriend that you love her once in awhile is actually a good thing.” And, “don’t leave for two days after getting in a fight or leave cryptic messages on the refrigerator written in your own blood. It’s not conducive to a healthy relationship.” Kind off makes me nostalgic though and reminds me of my first message from him written blood.

StarWatch Films First of all, you're racist. That's fucked up. Try not to stereotype, and/or look down on, whole groups of people in the future, especially based on something as arbitrary as the colour of their skin. Secondly, stop race-baiting. Like other people, I didn't find a lot of her routine funny, but not because I was offended - simply because I didn't find it funny. I didn't find anything in her jokes offensive, but I just didn't laugh. To contrast, Trevor Noah makes more stereotypically 'offensive' jokes about white people in his stand up, but I think he's hilarious. I don't get offended at his jokes, either. In fact, I tend to think that controversial, astute, politically-incorrect comedy is some of the best comedy (when it's well-done, of course). I've been to comedy shows where comedians have made fun of me for being white, blonde, American....and I never get offended. In fact, I don't think I've ever been offended by a joke. The closest I've come to it is when someone made a joke about black people, comparing them to monkeys. I was pretty mortified by that, but I've never been annoyed by someone making a joke about white people. To summarise: don't be racist, don't stereotype, and don't race-bait. You should be better than that. This chick simply wasn't funny to a lot of people. That's all.
@rachel.75986 жыл бұрын
StarWatch Films Yeah I don't believe that's necessarily true. I'm asian. She didn't offend me... But I still didn't laugh. And that is a little wrong to say white people are like that. What if you said that about black people?
@iprobablywontseeyourreply.71936 жыл бұрын
StarWatch Films I’m not offended at all. The funniest part was when she said white ppl aren’t made for this Earth, Actually. I have no issue with jokes taking the piss out of white ppl! But I honestly didn’t think this was too funny. The Star Trek name thing doesn’t connect to anyone, the “his next gf is going to think he’s so clean. No BITCH IT WAS ME” wasn’t even sort of funny. I’m not a comedian but I could think of so much funnier things. Your audience has to connect with your jokes at least a little. The audience laughed hardest at the jokes making fun of white ppl...bc it connected to everyone. It’s an excuse and a scapegoat to be like, “oh white ppl are just mad so that’s why they didn’t think she was hilarious.” No man, it’s bc her set wasn’t good. White ppl laugh at white ppl jokes ALLLLL the time. Remember Dave Chapelle and Kat Williams, made fun of white ppl all the time, white ppl love those bits!!

The audience smells fear and awkwardness in a stand up comedian and they reflect it back. It's a brutal gig. Eddie Murphy dressing up as a white guy on SNL is a classic. Dave Chappelle, Jamie Fox.......everyone does or did whitey jokes and makes/made it funny. As a woman I wanted so badly for her to kill but she didn't. You're making it about race when it's about comedic timing and the emotional craft of comedy. She let the tension hang and didn't adequately deliver the punch lines for the release/laugh/payoff. This isn't the spoken word. There's a big difference.

If more people viewed black people as individuals with more melatonin in their skin rather than view black people as embodying all the negative stereotypes associated with being black, racism would not exist towards black people. Renee Moore racism could end. Its possible. We just need to stop saying things like "oh that's a black thing" and "oh that's a white thing". When society no longer gives importance to race and it just becomes something as meaningless as the color of someones eyes, which could be possible, then we will have no more racism

Sasheer you are going straight to series and movies. Good on your agent for booking Late Night, now you got casters attention with your amazing looks. But stand-up comedy ain't in your future. Sitcoms for sure.

I agree, though I enjoyed it. She was too tame for a career in standup.

I feel like they need to mix the audience louder. When you’ve got a room that big even the jokes that land just seem to fall flat because the crowd feels so distant.

Nice try. I could hear them plenty well when Stephen was doing his monologue.

Great stand-up. A good comedian makes us think, even if the process makes us uncomfortable.

So..... The first 2 minutes she talks about her name, then mentions Star Trek to some applause, then racist racist racist for a few minutes, then the crowd goes wild at the end of her set because whatever crew member is demanding applause for the fade out to the commercial break. This is what you call BOMBING ladies and gents.
