I remember watching that, too. My girlfriend and I had stopped at her parents' house for what was supposed to be a quick stop, and her step-dad had the game on, it was like halfway through the first quarter. Ended up staying for the whole game.

Manu is the reason I am a Spurs fan. Growing up in the 90s in Europe I was a Jordan hater, so I was rooting for every team that had some chance against the fucking bulls. Once I saw Manu I knew that's my guy forever based on love not hate.

When Manu said he and his family were Texans that made my heart swell. That man has deep love for his country and he's proven that his heart is big enough for Argentina and the Spurs with how much he laid it out on the court each game. As a native San Antonian, I'm genuinely happy my favorite NBA player found a second home he loves.

Everyone remembers the Finals in 2014, right? Manu changed the game in the Spurs' favor so many times. In game 5 especially the Spurs were struggling until he game in and changed things. If you can, go look at the replay. In one series he took a charge, hit a 3 ball, had THE DUNK (I think it was part of that series) - he completely changed the game. Miami was up, and then came Manu. That wasn't the only game he did that series either. I know Kawhi had a great series, but I really thought there should have been co-MVPs of Manu and Boris. I loved the way Manu played all out. He always always always gave 110 percent. I wanted to go to one of the games his last year, but cancer got in the way. At least I have saved some of the games from that year and others so I can still watch. He was still more than good enough to play when he retired. If I was choosing an NBA team from anyone of the former players, Manu would be on the team. He was an all-time team player.

As a Denver fan I hated this dude for so long. But grew to appreciate his will to win, effort,& just how damn good he was-but also how much he cared,& what a winner he was. We all know that should be common in pro sports-but isnt always. His last few yrs,I actually came full circle,& kinda pulled for the Spurs-since my Nugs never really had a legit shot back then, except 2009. But I was upset for the Spurs when they flat blew that Finals vs Miami. But thrilled when they made it right the next yr. That was 1 of the most underrated Championship teams Ive seen,& actually kinda had a lot in common with the Nuggets 1st title team-just a few weeks ago. If we can have even a fraction of the success of the Spurs-thatd be amazing. Though Im certainly not predicting 5 rings,6 Finals,& 9 WCF-pretty damn amazing run for a "small market."

They left out the craziest part of the ruptured testicle story. The game that he came back after something like 28 days out, he immediately stepped in front of Kevin Love and took a charge. Unbelievable.

Manu was the epitome of an x-factor: you didn't know what you were going to get because he could be having a bad shooting night and still make the right pass or defensive play to win the game, or all of a sudden score in ways you didn't know were possible. And that was the thing with him as well: he was never flashy or attempting to be flashy for the sake of the cameras or a sport's show replay for the next day or so. Even in his wildest, craziest attempts at a pass or shot, regardless of whether he accomplish them or not, you could see there was an actual thought process behind it. It wasn't a random intention but a calculated attempt to disrupt the opposition and/or win the game.

💯💯💯💯 quality. Really great job Spurs. One of a kind. The right person, right time, right place. True genuine person. I can't explain, but his celebration whenever he scored is just focused on himself and giving a spark to other teammates, waaaay different from nowadays celebration. Today's celebration is just taunting your rival. 😂😂😂 And most importantly, a winner mentality, with more than 0.7 winning % for a player with more than 1000 games.

This should be on netflix or something for every argentinian to watch with subtiles the love you give to Manu. I remember watching the 4-3 Pistons finale from Argentina, pretty late due to time difference I was 17yo. I fell in love with Spurs bc of him and fell in love with the heavenly Trio he made with Duncan and Parker. Could watch him playing with our National Jersey in oyr city 🤯🤯🤯 Also met Oberto, I have a picture with him he's extremely tall 😂
