I really don't know how to feel about Webkinz Next, it's a lot different from what I remember, but I'm willing to give it a shot! Thanks for showing us this Sassy, I think I have a little more faith in Ganz now.

Wasn’t expecting such a long video, but I loved every second of it! Considering I’m not involved in the Webkinz community and haven’t seen much of Webkinz Next beyond my own gameplay, it was very fun seeing all the behind the scenes footage. Here’s to hoping for bug fixes in the future..... lol

It makes me so happy that you can finally change the owner's name! I remember trying to do that on Webkinz Classic last year by emailing Ganz, and they refused for some reason. I made my account when I was like 7... I feel like I should be able to change at least my own name after all these years of supporting Ganz. I guess it's whatever though, lol.

It's sad to see so many problems, especially what you said about the art style at 43:42, still remain to this day. I want to find the game cute, but it attempts to look too realistic with its objects for me to get into that cozy head space the original put me in. I also feel like this is the issue with the pet models as well, with a mix-match of semi-realistic parts and overly cartoon ones. Even a year later, this is still a really good video and I can hope they take some of the critiques to heart in the future.

this is a great video! love seeing the game from a different perspective. i probably wont actually play the game (i barely even play classic anymore lol) but its cool to see the new features being used and debugged.. the feature of making the new pets have no gender and the easy accessibility to change names rlly stood out to me as a trans person whos grown up playing and loving the original game. little inclusive things like that means the world to me haha

Apparently in the UK, "butters" is slang for ugly. So maybe that's why you couldn't name the baby butters?

Nah it was because it has "butt" in it, like how the game flagged "sassy" because of the "ass" in it. Probably flagged default because of "fault," too. Unfortunately, it matches letter combinations and not whole words, which makes sense otherwise people could literally write "IEatAss" and get it through the filter, but it does suck for non-offensive names like butters.

Purely voluntary. None of us testers were compensated, we were just supposed to play the game in our downtime and give feedback.

It's not uncommon in modern games, actually. Plenty of games have their speed tied to FPS, for example, Splatoon 3 on Switch which released a year ago. I don't like the practice and it makes hacking a higher FPS in a huge pain, but there's a lot of valid reasons for doing it, one of which being it's simpler to make and manage.

I don't really like that they removed the gender feature. It doesn't make sense to me that you can breed the pets but they don't have a gender.
