Great video as usual! I have to agree with your assessment of Kraken: Lazy encounter design and it just takes AGES.... Yet, you forget something: Kraken casts "Stranger Tides" every once in a while. When he does that and there's still an arm alive, little tornadoes will spawn under players, doing quite a lot damage (not an instant kill, but two are enough to end your life). This will make it even more annoying if you have players in your group who just don't have any clue what to do.

To add a bit more information to this: When our good friend Kraken finishes casting "Stranger Tides" any still living arm will use "At (The?) Worlds End" which is an instant cast ability that spawns a tornado on a random player. The tornado then explodes in a large aoe for about 2k damage. It is possible to dodge it if the tornado isn't in the centre-ish of the room or so, but the aoe is massive none the less. (Yeah I had a lot of people not listen to me when I said kill the Arm's first... still was fun to watch them get tossed around like rag-dolls focusing the tentacles though :3 )

@@Snoosh01 It's 2022, I came here as I'm able to stun the first tailscrew, but I always get stunned myself before I can get the next stun off for the 2nd tailscrew. Now I know I can just dump the tether on a DPS! You better hope I'm not your tank next time you run Sastasha (Hard) ;P

It's crazy how much more effort gets put into these hard mode dungeons compared to WoW. The new "mythic dungeons" are just the same dungeons with the same mechanics just with higher health and damage. zzzzzzzzz....

Just did the kraken and found this guide somewhat unhelpful. Basically the Arms are each on a timer. Once the timer runs out, they cast World's End. It's about 2000 damage per. Not sure if these hits are divided among players or straight up AOE, but they will wipe you if left unattended. Rest of the "tactics" are as mentioned irrelevant: Tentacles will grab nearby players and whip them around for a few seconds. When not doing that, each one hits the tank for about 300 damage. Not really a concern. Boss itself will cast AoE blind on the tank. Only really a concern for the melee DPS. I think each Arm upon spawn will slam down, which knocks players around. Can throw you into a tentacle for an unwelcome roller coaster ride.

This was the fist HM dungeon I had any problems with. In fact, this was the first HM dungeon I had a single death on. We had multiple total wipes on the first boss. The last boss we had no wipes, but I myself did die twice. At least we beat the final boss on first try, but it was a slow grind down. One person in my group was on his third attempt. He hadn't even gotten past the second boss on his first two tries. I'll definitely run it again. I like the ones that make you work.

Regarding the move Prey - it's actually not quite the same as the snipers in Brayflox, as it seems like you have to run through another person. I've tried just running through the line and it doesn't get dropped off to the other person.

My first run through here must have been glitched because when me and my party got to captain madison after his first time shooting he was just stuck in place until the last wave of adds when he bails, so I'm guess we got lucky at that part

Best strategy I've seen for captain madison: assign 1 DPS to the captain for the 3rd gun phase (the last time he spawns adds). That DPS must only damage the captain and ignore adds. The other DPS kills the adds (ranged DPS is better for this, to avoid slaves).

I followed this guide and died horribly on the last boss. Apparently if you don't destroy the tentacles he'll use a big attack that wipes your whole team. We did it again and took the tentacles out this time, and won with zero effort.

Captain Madison is by far the hardest of the bosses in the 3 new dungeons, and I'd argue that he's outright overtuned for a melee-only group, while the fight itself is uninteresting and simply a DPS/healing check. And the Kraken is kinda boring. All this makes Sastasha my least favourite of the new dungeons. Both Snowcloak and Qarn are much more fun. Sadly, every time I hit Expert Roulette, it drops me in Sastasha... :(

I'd have to agree that Captain Madison is the hardest of the bosses in Sastasha (I haven't stepped into Qarn yet). The only reason the group I was with wiped on the scorpion was because the healer wasn't aware of Slime's effects and they didn't use the Scholar's equivalent to Esuna to remove it. And getting grabbed by the slaves was butt-clenching, much like the adds in the last boss fight of Tam-Tara Hard. I spent most of my time focusing on the Arms than I did doing damage to Kraken. And I was downing the Arms quick enough that I could take out the tentacles, too. It gave the Dragoon time to focus on other things.
