lol as itachi said in the episode as well; Kabuto himself can break out of the jutsu/loop if he accepts it. Jiraiya would have accepted it and itachi would have lost 50% of his power by loosing one of his eyes. Jiraiya is not the type of person to use izanami on, he doesn't have tunnel vision like kabuto. So in the end this power would be useless against him.

Edo Itachi carried EMS sasuke in this battle indicating they are on par with Edo Itachi>= EMS Sasuke in feats. Prime version of Itachi by definition is >= Edo Itachi. Similar with Bee and naruto vs Nagato fight Itachi beats jiria no sweat, cause Jiria doesn't even scale to Sage Mode naruto. Jiira fans are the most foolish in the whole narutoverse. They are still stuck in that Itachi's retreat of Naruto.

@@jakublizon6375 Well I read the manga until the war arc (I think right after madara's summoning) and watched the show up until just before the sage arc. Ultimately I found the anime to have too much filler and the manga to be too hard to keep up with (I'd forget a few weeks, then have alot to catch up on, and after a while I built up a massive backlog of chapters) so I started getting the games on switch and was hooked, two days ago I got the secret chapter that covers this moment and I was blown away. I really want to get the 4th game and finish, but I've got to finish my other backlog first, haha. I hate how the series became a super-hero fiction halfway through, but moments like this really did pull me back in.

Crazy that on a writers standpoint the Rivalry between Orichimaru/Kabuto and Itachi fighting over Sasuke is alot more well written organic than Naruto vs Akatsuki/Obito/Pain that they needed to Retcon Minato vs Kurama to Kurama under Obito's Control vs Minato and needed to kill off Jiraya to make the conflict more personal Not saying it didn't work but Naruto vs Akatsuki/Obito/Pain has a lot of coincidence to happen

If you watch the full fight between them and not just youtube clips with the majority of the battle removed, it's explained that izanami was developed and used by many Uchiha to counter the effects of izanagi. While it was a forbidden technique amongst the Uchiha and kept secret, Madara had an extensive knowledge of all sharingan techniques known to his clan. Nowhere in the Manga or Anime does Madara express that he has never heard of this technique. Sorry your boy lost, he was never a main character though, but I will say snake sage kabuto was dope af. Still no match for the sharingan, a manifestation of the direct lineage to Ashra/Hagoromo/Kaguya.
