New episode about NIHILISM: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q3Sah5amfNinm7c Please forgive my rudeness in this episode. As I was editing I realised how much I was interrupting (I was yelling at the screen lol). I was way too excited and there’s about a 3 second delay talking to Uberboyo. This is why I prefer in person interviews. Anyways, this will not happen again (at least to this degree). Almost 2 years ago now Jesus rescued me from the deception and darkness. I loved my life and thought the new age was great, but nothing begins to compare to knowing Jesus :). I couldn't be more thankful or humbled, I had been a blasphemous atheist for years prior to my new age journey. The last 2 years have just been absolutely epic and educational. Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law. Love is the law, love under will. People leave out the last part because it doesn’t fit with the interesting dark stuff. This statement does not mean “do whatever you want.” Magicians believe that God/source, etc has a Will, they believe each human beings “will” is what each being is “supposed” to do for God. They tie this up with God. they tie it up with love. If you read the rest of Thelema by Crowley The statement means to do the great work. Gods will. It is not “do whatever you want” especially if what you want isn’t based in love. Love under will. Crowley didn’t follow this perfectly but most of the info we have on him is skewed by sensationalism. Aside from Crowley, much of magick traditions is white magic. It’s the same thing as a priest class, what do we think priests are? What are sermons? This is magick. If you do magick for the sake of being a vessel for Gods will, for the sake bringing love and good will into the world, that is what Christ himself did. Christ asked us to follow his example. To pray (magick) and to bring the spirit of agape into the world. We aren’t the ones doing the magick. God is. To sacrifice our own lowercase w will for the sake of Gods uppercase W Will. This sacrifice is what is meant by do what thou wilt.

So glad to see Jesus’ name mentioned. He IS the MOST HIGH. People can try and center themselves with chakras find balance or whatever. But Jesus Christ resonates at the highest vibration because “in the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word WAS God.” (John Chapter 1:1). And And all words are are just frequencies… He is the beginning and the end. He commanded the world to be created with His voice, and after all of creation, he took a look back, and said. This IS GOOD… he looked back at the “mirror” cause we are created in His image. And said this is good. After all, God IS good. In the beginning it says that the Spirit of God hovered over the waters above the Earth. So yes, He did see a reflection and chose to create the world as we know it by what He saw.

I spent so much of my teenage years swept up in the new atheist movement. I memorized all the fallacy’s and went around lobbing logical bricks at caricatures. I took the folly of Christians too seriously and missed out on what Christ had to offer. To personalize the spirit of God within the man of Jesus makes a connection to that Spirit so much more accessible . We are social beings. Relationships are core to how we operate. To represent our connection to divinity through the befriendment of Christ makes total sense. Clearly the schisms in Christianity means people interpret this relationship differently. I’d be a fool if I continued to quibble over that discrepancy. I don’t claim some ultimate knowledge about this. All I can speak for is the immense change I’ve accrued. Im glad you found something in it as well.

@@tradertom4843 I grew up an atheist. My family believed in God but they never talked about it. I was heavy into debating online. I wasn’t an atheist merely for lacking a belief. I was an atheist because I had tons of arguments in my belt against the veracity of the Bible and of God.. Even with my opposition I was still interested in understand why people have religious experiences. I went into anthropology, I studied shamanism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism, freemasonry etc. all the while I was planting the seeds for my transformation. I’m not the type of Christian who abstains from other cultures and other wisdom traditions. However, to make a long story short, something I realized during my journey was that God (being formless) needs to be connected with through a personal relationship. This is what Christ represents. Within Christ God dwells and if you or I can self empty. We can be filled with that spirit too. If we die to ourselves, we achieve Kenosis. Christians want to brush this off because they want to beat themselves up. They believe if they are always whipping themselves somehow they are accounting for their guilt. The whole point of Christianity is to be possessed by the holy spirit. We discern whether this spirit is of God by “the fruits” does this spirit serve self? Or serve God? Is it the spirit of Eros? Or the spirit of Agape? I won’t go on too long. I appreciate your engagement.

1:28:00 I understand the role of religion, but I choose not to follow any religion, I follow Newtons laws, and if energy can never be created nor destroyed, and energy is matter, energy has always been, and always is, just like the all from The Kybalion. With those laws I'm able to realize that I've always been here, not in the same form, but as energy, just as everyone, and everything else, I feel you don't have to choose the classical religions to be able to live a positive life because with those laws, I know that my body will disappear, and possibly even my consciousness, but the energy that created me has been, and always be here, which means everyone could come back after death, just a different form. Granted now that I think about it, I could just be following The Kybalion, and rationalizing it using Newtons laws of energy. In my opinion as long as you understand that this world as we see it isn't everything, and energy will never go away, or seemingly will never go away, and understand that you are energy, you could live a more positive life just knowing your energy doesn't die, you die, and even if you don't come back, the energy that made you is still there, and always will be there. Feel free to combat my view, I love debating these topics, challenge me to explain my view by asking questions, anything, or nothing, I'm okay with ether option.

As they are versions of Christianity that you would say this is not pure Christianity this exactly the same for Muslims/Islam. As muslims we believe Jesus is a prophet and he is mentioned in the Quran. In the bible it talks about another one that’s coming.. wouldn’t that mean another prophet? Have you ever seen a baby pick up something, a toy or whatever, and immediately want to share it with someone? They will bring it over to you in complete awe. They may even interrupt our very important “adult conversations” to show it to us. Is the baby coming from a bad place? There is a natural zeal we have in sharing something that we feel is beautiful and True. I watch a movie or read a book that I love and want to share it with someone, sure I may be abrasive in ways I do this, who knows, but this is only for me to judge. We live in a world where we are programmed to feel shameful and to judge others for doing something that maybe isn’t even that shameful, and in fact is very natural and good when it comes from a pure place, zeal isn’t always bad. But most importantly, when I see the actions of another, I can only really project my own inner disposition onto them. So if I see Tom “interrupting” I can see him as a self righteous JO or I can see him as the baby wanting to share a toy with another. We see the “splinter in our brothers eye but not the log in our own.”

There are the original christians, the gnostics that followed the real teaching of Jesus that are printed in the apocryphal text. Then there are the christians that follow the teachings from the bible that Constantine and his followers prepared for the masses. Jesus' "father", the God he follows, is not the god from the old testament. The old and new testament shouldn't be together. They are two different "religions". Investagate. Read all 84 books of the bible. I promise it will be a total mind fuck.

As for the impetus for the first crusade. Generally speaking Arabic Islamic conquests had slowed down for a few centuries in most areas. The Seljuk Turks, notably new converts to Islam themselves took large sections of Anatolia from the byzantines. They also banned pilgrims from travelling through their lands to reach Jerusalem, something that the Arabic caliphates had traditionally allowed. Basically it was the fact that an orthodox Christian empire lost a lot of territory and that Christian pilgrims were prevented by the Turks that led to the first crusade.

Tom, you can check out Chaotic witch aunt. Shes a pretty big tic tocker with audience of mainly young girls into witchy aesthetic. She’s streaming and doing rituals and all that jazz. The algorithm poped her up on my front page and I was like Chill, strange things to watch while making breakfast. Until... a video I think about summer solstice? And she was like this time I will swear my allegence to ... Lord Luciferus. She chewed up the name and I had to check if I heard propely. It’s supper not cool in my opinion to have such a big KZbinr be a casual satanist. I don’t think that her audience can ... well , be self aware enough to feel that satanism has heavy (bad) energy. It’s just being edgy and think that magic is Harry Potter shit and not for example being in a mood, being kind or unkind, feeling love or hate

Thankyou for your channel Tom I was thinking about trying psychedelics again. But I am reminded that I am saved why would I go back to the witchcraft and occult and demonic entities that I was delivered from. The deception is so bad in this world and I hope you grew to be unashamed and not a closeted Christian I assure you if they hate you it’s because you are on the side of truth. Anyways brother I know you still do some substances that’s ok no one is perfect but as for me I shall not partake in something that could be dissolving boundaries as you said. Our spiritual immune system is there for a reason stay safe Grace will always find you no matter how dark and hopeless it seems.

Great conversation. I love the ambition of the conversation to create comparisons between religious approaches. I disagree with a lot of the assumptions and framing, for example that Buddhism is nihilistic, if you see it this way you haven’t truly investigated what awakening is and only are postulating at what it means. You have to go beyond your concepts, which to a conceptually driven mind, may seem nihilistic… Which is the flaw of any discussion like this. You have incredible minds, capable of articulating complexity, in artistic and novel ways, but the minds postulations will never reveal the great truth that you seem to be aiming for, it is a Pandora’s box that will never truly grasp what all religions are truly aiming for. Truth through philosophising may seem noble and bold, but it’s really so much more simple and direct. Anyway, really enjoyed the conversation, very entertaining. Thank you

So it is also, of course, with the contradictory charges of the anti-Christians about submission and slaughter. It IS true that the Church told some men to fight and others not to fight; and it IS true that those who fought were like thunderbolts and those who did not fight were like statues. All this simply means that the Church preferred to use its Supermen and to use its Tolstoyans. There must be SOME good in the life of battle, for so many good men have enjoyed being soldiers. There must be SOME good in the idea of non-resistance, for so many good men seem to enjoy being Quakers. All that the Church did (so far as that goes) was to prevent either of these good things from ousting the other. They existed side by side. The Tolstoyans, having all the scruples of monks, simply became monks. The Quakers became a club instead of becoming a sect. Monks said all that Tolstoy says; they poured out lucid lamentations about the cruelty of battles and the vanity of revenge. But the Tolstoyans are not quite right enough to run the whole world; and in the ages of faith they were not allowed to run it. The world did not lose the last charge of Sir James Douglas or the banner of Joan the Maid. And sometimes this pure gentleness and this pure fierceness met and justified their juncture; the paradox of all the prophets was fulfilled, and, in the soul of St. Louis, the lion lay down with the lamb. But remember that this text is too lightly interpreted. It is constantly assured, especially in our Tolstoyan tendencies, that when the lion lies down with the lamb the lion becomes lamb-like. But that is brutal annexation and imperialism on the part of the lamb. That is simply the lamb absorbing the lion instead of the lion eating the lamb. The real problem is-Can the lion lie down with the lamb and still retain his royal ferocity? THAT is the problem the Church attempted; THAT is the miracle she achieved. GK Chesterton

At that exact moment I drive past a car that has AMEN316 +jesus fish on the numberplate, so I do a u turn around take a pic of the plate. Later on that evening I continue my discussion with my friend and He says "Heaven has a plan for you". I jokingly said "I know", and was reminded of a song I used to hear regularly when at various low points in my life. Swedish house mafia "Heavens got a plan for you",,,anyway I look up the song and it has exactly 777million views. I will watch your vid now. I think all our lives are a divine dance on one big stage. Overnight it changed to 778million 😂 Thanks.

Let us follow for a moment the clue of the martyr and the suicide; and take the case of courage. No quality has ever so much addled the brains and tangled the definitions of merely rational sages. Courage is almost a contradiction in terms. It means a strong desire to live taking the form of a readiness to die. "He that will lose his life, the same shall save it," is not a piece of mysticism for saints and heroes. It is a piece of everyday advice for sailors or mountaineers. It might be printed in an Alpine guide or a drill book. This paradox is the whole principle of courage; even of quite earthly or quite brutal courage. A man cut off by the sea may save his life if he will risk it on the precipice. He can only get away from death by continually stepping within an inch of it. A soldier surrounded by enemies, if he is to cut his way out, needs to combine a strong desire for living with a strange carelessness about dying. He must not merely cling to life, for then he will be a coward, and will not escape. He must not merely wait for death, for then he will be a suicide, and will not escape. He must seek his life in a spirit of furious indifference to it; he must desire life like water and yet drink death like wine. No philosopher, I fancy, has ever expressed this romantic riddle with adequate lucidity, and I certainly have not done so. But Christianity has done more: it has marked the limits of it in the awful graves of the suicide and the hero, showing the distance between him who dies for the sake of living and him who dies for the sake of dying. GK Chesterton

I think the fact that they say buddhism is nihilistic is somewhat disingenuous. In buddhism, particularly Mahayana, my understanding is that the goal aside from detaching yourself from samara was to become a bodhisattva. We you use compassion to help others with their suffering to do them same. If everyone was on board that would the "kingdom" for buddhism. Where everyone has compassion for others and acts in a way that will minimize suffering for all humanity.

Around 1:30:00 - this has me wondering if that's why in the next coming, the Second Coming, it says the Christ will come riding on a horse with a sword. This sounds very masculine. The first coming of Christ, I can see how you say it has that feminity. Am wondering if the second coming goes something like unifying the masculine back into it (I say back into it because looking at the old testament, it had a strong masculinity to it with Yahweh - justice, order, etc.)

The only criticism is that Steph makes a lot of claims that have no hold on reality, he has a great perspective but he's way too authoritative. I listen to a lot of pretty aggressive/negative rap because I love the powerful vocals, the beats, and the whole estethics, but I have been noticing more and more how too much of it can influence my mood and outlook in a negative way (so I balance it 50/50 with lovely electronic music which to me speaks about love and unity ;)).
