great rhetoric, but it's not actually true.. what is it ?? like 1/3 or more of pastors' kids leave religion? it's like once they turn 18 or so they run far away. all my friends are fundamentalist christians but only a few even know what's in the bible.. I was willing to die for my christian faith for 40 years, and we very very rarely ever went to church and I barely knew any of what the bible actually said... then I attended a free will baptist church for 3 years and that's what led to many questions,( because they read ALL of the bible and don't cherry pick) and ended up spending 4 years in deep study of the ancient world from christian scholars (young and old earth creationists) as well as secular biblical scholars over 4,000 hrs of study, thus far..... but I was an atheist within the first 6 months, since then I've just been putting the puzzle together in how the different religions evolved from one another... but many kids are nothing like their parents

No, the First Amendment made it clear. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof. So, in other words, no laws can be made to make it possible for church to be established in state affairs. The Supreme Court agreed. Engel v. Vitale (1962) The Supreme Court ruled that school-sponsored prayer in public schools is unconstitutional because it violates the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment.
@DigitallySavedКүн бұрын
This also brings up another issue. If a church can offer school children a Bible based education via the school. Then, every religion will also have the right to do so. That is why the Satanist are now doing it. Yes, Satanism is now legally considered a religion. It was established as such in 2019.

@@DigitallySavedNO, it simply means the State can't prefer one religion over another(Catholic over Baptist).
@christiansoldier77Күн бұрын
@@DigitallySavedThat's incorrect. The first amendment is a restriction on Congress not a restriction on state government. A state can have laws in favor of religion. Many states had their own official state religions .

Ummm, tell that to Thomas Jefferson. He was a cheif architect and signer of the constitution. He wasn't even a Christian.... perhaps that is why he created the First Amendment. The establishment clause literally tells us that the government can not create laws establishing religion or prohibit anyone from practicing any religion as they wish. Thomas Jefferson was also our third president and the writer of the Danbury letter to the Baptist church outlining the separation of church and state. Thomas Jefferson didn't believe Jesus was God, did not believe in his resurrection, and did not believe in the miracles just to name a few. Lastly, God, Bible, and Christianity are not mentioned in the constitution.

EDUCA'TION, n. [L. educatio.] The bringing up, as of a child, instruction; formation of manners. Education comprehends all that series of instruction and discipline which is intended to enlighten the understanding, correct the temper, and form the manners and habits of youth, and fit them for usefulness in their future stations. To give children a good education in manners, arts and science, is important; to give them a religious education is indispensable; and an immense responsibility rests on parents and guardians who neglect these duties.
