This shows the difference between Aiden and Carrie and why they would have never worked. Aiden wanted a traditional and simple family life. A wife, children and a country house, while Carrie wanted that big New York lifestyle. Nothing inherently wrong about either of them and their needs, but they're completely incompatible when put together. This is why it's a little silly, when people say, that she should have picked Aiden and how he was the perfect guy. Maybe perfect for some women, sure, but definitely not all, especially women like Carrie. Personally, I wouldn't have picked either of the two. I would have picked Harry, because of his great sense of humour and supportive, loving nature.

I like the way the original show was about real interactions with people. Real conversations about friendships and courtships and uncomfortable moments with former boyfriends ... I saw the sanitized version that was on tv. Where they removed the profanity. It did not seem like an x-rated shocking pornography display of worst behavior ever. The new series seems to embody how do we cram enough grossness and shocking bad behavior on every level, from an emotional abuse level to outright basic Mock rules of decency... Where you do not hand out minors drugs at somebody's funeral and you do not enter a person's home while they are convalescing and desecrate their kitchen and distract their caregiver with drugs and adultery. The first show were simpler times. I welcome seeing a payphone. Not a time when people were connected to a permanent fixture on their hand. The cell phone. Which has taken on a roll of its own now in movies and series. They actually can create and substitute for an actor themself. I miss the good old times.

I think she's just shocked by how much his life has changed but is happy for him at the same time because he's got all he ever wanted and wouldn't have had if he was still with her. To be honest I always thought Aiden was too good for Carrie I hated how they brought him back in the second movie and he and Carrie kissed it was so out of character for Aiden to do that when he was always so loyal the least they could have done was made it like here where they show he and Carrie getting along after all they went through.

I think it's telling how, even though she started out kinda shocked and maybe instinctually upset, by the time she's walking away and he can't see her face, she doesn't drop her smile, like it softens a bit but holds this look of acceptance and introspection, and processing his happy life and realizing she *is* happy for him.
