First of all, great scene. Second, as I get older, I realize that Carrie and Big had a problem with communication. I mean, if she had been honest about wanting to get married and told him that it was a necessary factor for them to be together, then I would understand her anger and we could blame him. I know all of SATC by heart, and she never said anything very clearly. And he was having fun; he wanted a relationship where "if he needs to go to Paris, he goes to Paris." I mean... she was his safe option, and he showed her this so many times. I think she just wasn't sure what she wanted from him, didn't articulate anything, and this fight is pure proof of it. As I get older, I have learned that you need to say directly what you want and expect, and if you have some hidden agenda, you can't blame anybody for not guessing it.
