Nice video Dwight. I like that area of Bangkok, always seems cleaner than Silom. The food looked great in 4k video, Joe say's big thumbs up for that. Also, cool of you to get the owner in the video too. Nice work!

Thanks for the nice comment. I had so many issues with the video because of the old flourescent lights in the restaurant, but yes I like that place and the owner is really kind. His English isn't bad either, but he was to shy to talk about his food in English.

Ah. Somerset is like 3 steps from Smalls and 3.5 steps from Junker. Well done mate! Those veggie fritters look exactly like some delicious pakora(-da) I had last week. Excellent video DT.
@CourageousKitchen8 жыл бұрын
Definitely a strategic location! Yes, they were exactly like pakoras, but healthier--- and sauce soaked by the time I got to them. The mushroom 'hoy tod' dish though is good, but was all out when I got there.

+Bangkok Fatty I can definitely imagine mushroom hoi tod. I had crispy oyster hoi tod which was very tasty. 👍

Thanks for this series! This really debunks the myth of "you only need to spend 1 day in Bangkok" most travellers to the region share.

The owners are always kind to me here and the food is good. Very low key place. I just need to get there earlier somehow lol.

Great Vlog Dwight.. We always stay at the Somerset Park, a great family hotel... Next time you are in the area try out Uncle John's. It's a humble street restaurant, but the food is incredible...Last time we were there we saw Ken Lo enjoying a meal with some other famous chefs....
@CourageousKitchen8 жыл бұрын
Yes, I know Uncle Johns. I went there the first night (before hitting Junker) and they had already packed things up to close. So he's not in the videos, but I did include him in the list of restaurants to try in the guide on the blog.

What's going on with the camera at 6:25?
@CourageousKitchen8 жыл бұрын
looks like I'm about to experience dimensional travel, but it's really just the camera's frame rate collided with the flicker rate of the fluorescent lights.
