This is wonderful. The graphics are charming and for someone who does not read music they are an accessible way to follow the music.

I'm actually learning this piece right now! I've been meaning to for more than a year and a half, but only just recently got around to it. Such a wonderful piece, so open to interpretation and beauty, despite its (or, in my opinion, because of) simplicity. I love the style you chose for this video, especially how you have the low bass line emphasized over the inner chords with.

Oh, I didn't know that you were performing these pieces. I thought you were simply producing the videos - on which you do a marvelous job BTW - matching existing professional recordings with the graphics... Thank you for the beautiful performances and your overall work.

The videos with my performances are in this playlist: kzbin.info/aero/PL340FF3EF49EE5234 ... that leaves 231 videos with performances by other people (or, in some cases, completely synthetic --- made by me, but not "performed" by me).

@@smalin I'm an elementary music teacher in Auburn, ME, and I'm currently mentoring a student teacher. In the past few weeks, your videos have been VERY helpful in teaching her (and me, actually) tools that can be used to help younger kids access and understand more complex music. Your video of Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D minor was a HUGE hit with 3rd-6th graders right before Halloween. It allowed us to go off on a conversation about the fugue that kids wouldn't possibly have been able to understand or appreciate without the visual. I wish I'd have gotten video of their faces as they watched---they were truly awestruck. Thank you for your work!

Wonderful. I especially like the tempo you've chosen here as it is something so difficult to get right with this piece.

All of my visualization styles can be used together (which has been the case for several years). Whether they *work well* together is another question ...

I am always very impressed with Malinowsky's interpretation and execution, and I consider myself to be very discerning. In this he seems to rely on the music itself for that feeling of suspension, and allows it just enough drive to not stall in momentum, each minimalist note an important impact like the drops in a heavy yet sparse rain. Good call, Stephan!

I fangirled when I saw this in my subscriptions! :D (Can you fangirl over music? That's a thing, right?) This piece is so relaxing and wonderful, and I think your chosen animation style fit it very well. I don't know if it was just me, however, but I felt like some parts of the RH were too choppy for my liking. Obviously I understand the importance of articulation, but previous recording have been more liberal with the tempo, though I don't know if that's a limitation of the MAM software. Either way, I love the video ~ good job on making another wonderful MAM! ^^

I've always loved this song. I had a kiddie piano (the plastic kind that's about a foot long) that played this song, and I'd try to match it, but couldn't quite get it. I love the way this animation is set up; I haven't seen any like this one before.

I am wondering what makes you choose a white background over a dark one. I really like the lightness associated with this video and wonder what the other more classic pieces would look like in this style.
@smalin10 жыл бұрын
I wanted to use the "butterflies" animation, and it looks better with the white background. It works best for music that's relatively simple.
