Really enjoying the videos. I play jazz piano for a living, the solo stuff I do is out of an Oscar Peterson, Dave McKenna thing. I like how you capture Tatum's spirit, maybe the hardest part of the whole process. Nice job once again.

As always, you have a wonderful sensitivity to the intricacies of Arts' touch and approach. Since AT was an early adopter of new tunes of the day, I'd bet that he played Satin Doll. Trouble is it was likely "experimental" only and never recorded. I hope this will be the start of many tunes you post that suggest what Art might have played "x" like. Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays. -Klav

@aemeill I am almost invisible. Nobody knows me and a few people that do don't even know I play piano.I basicly play for fun.I am a piano tuner and go into nice homes. We are told to dress up for a good impression. I can not see how I could enter in to full time income at what I do.Tatum style is not that popular today. Thanks for comments, but I am not as good as you think.

Satin Doll (1953), did Art Tatum play it before his death in 1956? How would he have played "I Want To Hold Your Hand" (1963) or "Moon River" (1961). Great video as always! 5 stars, thank you!!!!

Seriously WHO are you? With that kinda talent you should be a member of Jazz royalty under the name of son of god(Art Tatum). I see you're wearing a tie and everything ;) i just hope you didnt get sucked into the corporate life and got a cubicle or office somewhere...and your talent is wasted ;( Who are you?????
