You need a grand piano my friend! Very nice work!

The screen shows a score made with software. You should show what that score actually sounds like and not put in the background the original sound that is nothing like what you have done.
@musictranscriptionАй бұрын
That sheet music on the screen is wrong. Art doesn't play in thirds. He only plays a melody in right hand and the guitar double it one octave lower. You can check it in other videos that show his hand very close
@musictranscriptionАй бұрын
I've transcribed to C the original audio. I'm a little out of fingers. But maybe I'll rehearse it for guitar too.
@musictranscriptionАй бұрын
I've transcribed the music from the video and I'm going to check if what you show on the screen is correct, I have at home tones of books of sheet musicfull of mistakes. After many years transcribing by request, I've got a great experience, I found fast all these mistakes. I have Hal Leonard book of Art Tatum transcriptions and I never dared to play it. I'm pretty out of fingers, but talking about transcribing, I swear they can write what they want but until you don't play it, you don't know you threw your money.

man its crazy how something this good is just buried on youtube. an absolute gem and only 6000 people have heard it. it messes with my head lol

i believe it is time that i take screenshots of every frame of sheet music, upscale the resolution using AI, and then print out the images

Hope you are doing well, years later I am still coming back to your videos as the new secret corner of the internet. I swear I have put a few hundred views on each of these videos myself. If you ever are coming out to Seattle I would love to host a concert of you at our school.

Forget it! Nothing ever good comes to Seattle EVER, as long as the state is full of leftist retards. 😝

Dear Sir RKJP56. You are absolutely amazing! I am truly happy to have found your Channel. As a lover of Sir Art Tatum's Music, it is truly refreshing to see that you have been able to figure out and execute some of the awesome intricate passages that Mr. Tatum executed. I also interestingly only discovered the Great Educator, Pianist Maestro Extraordinaire Sir Dick Hyman's Century of Jazz Video DVD! My journey has once again begun... Thank you very much for sharing your insights. They are certainly precious gems of musical knowledge that are priceless!

I actually think, you could really teach a hole lot about jazz. You really are the person that gets the closest in virtuosic playing like Tatum was, in my opinion. So many great runs, different accompinaments with stride, counter- melodies, walking-Bass and a while lot more! I actually are very sure, people would like to learn from you. I appreciate your time and effort you put into your piano and jazz - you're grooving soo hard, it's really great. Thanks for uploading!! Have a nice and healthy time :)

Roger you are literally the best and closest sounding person to Art tatum I have ever seen. So many pianist have tried and they sound too classical or the syncopation and /or touch is nowhere close. It appears you have embodied just about almost everything Art was all about. Do you have transcriptions for these songs you play?
