This is the first time I've seen anyone mention the parachute physics! I was filled with glee when they changed the parachute to an equipment instead of a consumable

@WolfgerSilberbaer2 ай бұрын
Wait, what? They're not consumables anymore? Oh well.... I'm up to hoverpack now anyway.
@ZacharyWalker-Elders2 ай бұрын
@@WolfgerSilberbaer Yeah! They changed with update 8. I would offer that jet packs are more versatile, the ability to ascend without restriction is nothing to scoff at, but there's something satisfying about running around with the parachute with blade runners equipped. You can alternate between the ground slide and jumping into a chute to keep your momentum up while running and (like in the video) if you hit the right surface, you ascend *fast.* While the physics is questionable, I'm tickled pink to mess around with it.
@OlaftheGreatАй бұрын
I didn't even know they weren't consumables anymore. I've deliberately avoided them for a while now. I'll have to give it a try sometime, but I've already got a jetpack and like 30 industrial storage containers full of liquid biofuel

Another tip to try is the bug/feature where holding action key, like E or C, then opening menu will 'lock' that action until you press that key again. You can use this for gathering biomass stuff where all you have to do is look at the leaves on the ground and you will pick it up, OR holding crouch but I've issues 'locking' that key constantly. Also the Zipline tool will stay active if you right click it once, instead of holding it down. Allows you to look at the menu while zipline, if you're zipping over Power Tower lines that is.
@DSJeezy2 ай бұрын
Thanks for the reminder on the "lock" feature. Makes cleaning up areas of foliage so much easier. As for the locked zipline, I did figure that one out pretty early but it's still a neat tip regardless!
@niyo919Ай бұрын
I figured out #4 on my own as I was making the final Space Elevator parts. Up until that point I had double clicking to equip the parachute to slow myself down from a cannon launch. Lowkey blew my mind when I discovered it.

I usually end up swapping to food I accidentally grabbed while out because it offset my parachute hotkey by 1 and then panic while I suffer a very delicious, berry flavored fall
@reformedzoomerАй бұрын
The parachute letting you climb steep slopes was crazy to discover. It feels like surfing in games with CS style movement but… stronger. I have used it extensively to not have to build so many ramps while exploring. While yes, the jet pack exists, I honestly prefer the parachute at least until you get rocket fuel and such because you honestly can’t climb that much on packaged fuel before you have to land.
@DSJeezyАй бұрын
I do like not having to slap as many ramps/ladders down. I don't want to see them later so I end up taking them down right after. With the parachute I just catch a conveniently placed updraft!

@jemoyy2 ай бұрын
@DSJeezy It is a QOL feature, that allows you to change some types of buildings with other buildings of the same group without dismantling the building you want to change. For example, if you accidentally placed splitters instead of mergers, you can quickly swap them to mergers just by holding ctrl and looking at them, or by using this feature you can upgrade your default splitters with already existing belt connections to smart ones without having to dismantle splitter and belts. Hope this was at least somewhat understandable cuz I'm kinda bad at explaining things in English xd.

Afaik there is only one swatch that can be edited freely without altering anything else. If you used any of the other custom swatches, however, then those items will be tagged to change when you alter that swatch. You need a light control panel for the actual emissive part of the light and I do believe they work like the custom swatches, yes.

@DSJeezy Hmm I'll have to do some testing with it. It should be fine since the only one I've been editing is the one actually labeled "custom Swatch". Well it's more like you have some soft guidance by the game to get you hooked on the true game which is just building factories. It can be about a number of things within that scope: better efficiency, larger scale, more pleasing design. The guidance slows after a time leaving you to your own devices. I hope that you give it some time despite your confusion. It took my until my 3rd save file to really get hooked but I love it!

I'm flattered that someone sees the resemblance to a high quality Satisfactory channel like his! I'm not too bothered with what you think, however, as you are making baseless claims and assuming a bunch of stuff about somebody that you don't even know! Have a nice day :)

@ well, that was exactly what he said in his video. like… “don’t tell coffeestain i told you this but…” talking about the SAME exact exploit? that can’t be a coincidence

Lol my response when I first started utilizing it. Definitely not a thing you'd think would work.

I found it a bit disorienting seeing video from Satisfactory and hearing music from Hardspace: Shipbreaker. Actually made it a bit harder to focus on the tips.

Totally fair. They are similar enough games. I always play with the Shipbreaker OST on in the background. Sorry if it made it hard to focus!

Another tip i found yesterday is that you can nudge conveyor lifts into spliters/mergers/machines
@DSJeezy2 ай бұрын
You can nudge a lot more stuff together than I initially thought and still have it function even if it looks super jank. But that's what logistics floors are for!
