If it were a 1974-1984 911, with the big square bumpers, it would make sense. But the 69-73 911's are highly regarded as the most beautiful era (which is why Singer goes with that era) so I wanted to highlight the originality while keeping the race car bits.

Very nice resto, just a few tips and dont take it as hate, I just want to give you tips as I work in a body shop :) Use weld through primer on stuff, that you cant paint afterwards, that way you can weld to it :) Further more, when doing stuff like rear quarters, you can cut through both layers, and create a perfect seam to weld up against. Further more, this is something alot of people do, even in body shops. Dont ''cold weld'' aka weld one place, and begin another. Do ''spot welds'' to hold it together every 15-20mm and grind it down, and then do a full step weld if that makes sense, i know it creates some work afterwards, but that metal is gonna be alot stronger and have a better weld, so you dont end up having water push through the paint/bondo.
@rennch.4 жыл бұрын
Yep...totally using copper SEM weld thru primer, and I love that technique...when I weld on flares, I cut about 1/4" inboard from the flare to cut both layers to get that perfect cut!
@butterfliesandtape4 жыл бұрын
Yes, Mike! Scary when it got down to the outer arches and drilling welds... congrats on all the new skills you're picking up. Very envious, sir! Cheers, and have a great weekend, from Catalunya x
