Chris, I always start with the cleaning of engine bay. I use a combination of Purple Power, Super Clean & Dawn soap to clean & strip all surfaces. Then I move on to the wheels & tires. For beginners, try to work in shaded areas if at all possible. Don't forget to clean around trunk & door jams. I use my strip wash solutions to foam the car. To save time, some detailers will clay the car while washing? Did you chemical & manually decontaminate the car? Did you polish and wax the car? When it comes to interior, I never spray surfaces, spray into my microfibers, you can cause damage. I noticed you were using a drill brush on a panel, do you think that's too aggressive? I would try using a magic eraser for tough stains, but be careful. What kind of APC did you use on the interior? For those of you who do not have a distractor on the floor mats, use your power washer. Then suck up dirty water with shop vac. I use Super Clean diluted 1 to 10 on interior surfaces except leather, then I use Woolite diluted 1 to 4. When cleaning interior glass, I use a magic eraser before cleaning with non ammonia glass cleaner. For beginners, I would check out the following Professional Detailers, such as; Brian from Apex, Pan the Organizer and Scott from Dallas Paint & Correction. I try to use products that are cost effective, so I get the most bang for the BUCK! Have you tried the New line of products from Turtle Wax? Hybrid Solutions with Sio2, very cost effective & lasts. Happy Detailing...

my understanding is that, 2 buckets method should be done after washing off the snow foam on your paint because you will scratch the paint and create swirl marks as you are basically using your wash mitt on the paint with that has all the dirts lifted up on the surface.

@horaciowells61034 жыл бұрын
I enjoy watching the dirty to clean transformation regardless of how dirty as long as it’s a decently noticeable transformation. However, I wanted to point out that spray foams are generally used to loosen the dirt and grime that are on the paint before hands washing to reduce the amount of scratching you will do on the paint when you get to the hand washing stage, as well as the two bucket method. Using two buckets, one with the soapy water and he other with just water to rinse off the dirt on the washout before dipping it back into the soapy water, is a good step but seems a bit pointless if you’re not going to first eliminate as much standing dirt from the vehicles paint before hand washing, regardless of how you hand wash.
