Very thorough video! I’ve hear the pressure washer can “break” some camper parts. Did you set your pressure washer at a specific pressure setting? What are the technical details? Thanks man! Love your channel!

Watched a lot of your videos. One thing that i did on our last pop up was wash the whole top of it. Then if i remember right, i used about two quarts of FLEX SEAL paint for the top. It worked awesome. I swear by FLEX SEAL now for many projects. THAT STUFF IS WATER PROOF IN A CAN.

What type of roof do you have, what material is it made out of?

@@ItsPoppin It was fiberglass. It is sold now, but every time i washed it, it cleaned up like brand new

Your wasp nest count appears inaccurate!! I believe you left out several wasp nests from your previous video. Glad they were all long since abandoned. I wouldn’t want all the wasps from the ten or so nests you found ganging up on you at once! You’re doing a great job on this pop up; I’m enjoying your videography. Nicely done!

When you put grease in the lift system underneath, using the grease gun, how do you know how much it needs? We recently got our 1st pop up and I plan to do that maintenance soon.
@ItsPoppin4 жыл бұрын
I stop when I see grease coming of of the end of the master tube where the cables comes out. The amount of grease may depend on the last time it was greased. You may find that more comes out as you raise and lower the pop up a few times. This is something I learned recently: there may be actually two grease zerks on your pop up, one that I showed and one above the water holding tank, which was hidden - at least for me. Hope this helps.
@WIKIDSTYLE4 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Do you recommend a certain type of grease? I bought some for the wheel bearings. I saw somewhere that that same grease would be ok for the lift system, but I just want to make sure.
@ItsPoppin4 жыл бұрын
Make sure its high temp for the wheel bearings. I think just a general grease is fine for the lift system.

Thanks for the detailed video. I have a question would you take off old caulking that’s cracking and black off before pressure washing or would it be best to do all that first then re caulk before pressure washing?

love your channel! we bought a pop up last week and were loving it! trying to squeeze a couple camping trips before i store it for winter :( .. hey what are the window strap things for?

Thanks! The straps just hold the vinyl window in when you roll it down.

Hey, what would you recommend for a new coating on a fiberglass top? Flex seal or Dicor fiberglass coating? Looking to give it an added protection on an 06 pop up camper

I really needed to see you remove that awning from the popup. Can you replace just the bag?
@ItsPoppin Жыл бұрын
No, the awning is stitched into the bag itself. You could, in theory, seam rip the awning out of the bag and have a seamstress custom make a new bag and sew the old awning into the new bag.

First I'd like to say thank you for the great content. I have learned a lot in just a few hours. Sadly, I wish I had found your channel prior to purchasing a 2005 Coachmen Clipper Spirit 1006 ST pop-up. I purchased it knowing that the lift system was not operational however, I thought it would be a simple fix. Unfortunately, I now see that it is more complicated. The original and now removed lift system was an IDT. I thought I could simply replace it by installing a Goshen system in but I cannot find any information on how I can do that. Also, the crank is in the back/rear and not on the trailer mount which is another problem I think. Do you have any advice? Are you aware of any retrofits? Any knowledge, insight or suggestions would be welcomed. Thank you for your time.
@ItsPoppin3 жыл бұрын
Hey Freddie, I know nothing about the IDT lift system. It looks like they're might be some more information about troubleshooting and/or retrofitting the IDT system over on popupportal.com.

What i can i use to clean mold stains on the inside?
@ItsPoppin4 жыл бұрын
Any mold and mildew remover, like starbrite. Just make sure you follow the label i.e., wipe it down with water after using. Also, if you use it on your canvas, you may have to re-waterproof.

Do you have any suggestions for patching a hole in the roof? It’s about quarter size. Any particular kits you would recommend?

We’ve had luck with JB waterweld for small holes or cracks.

Yes, I've seen a lot of people do that, but we dont have any experience with painting the exterior.

I'm going to paint my tent trailer roof with a white rubberized paint. 1st I need to pressure wash, I wasn't going to as I was scared it might rip a hole in the roof. I started just cleaning with Awesome multi purpose cleaner with some old Dutch added in. My arms hurt now lol. I'll finish cleaning with the pressure wash. As this guy seemed to clean his ok with one.

So roof bubbling doesn't need to be repaired/replaced?
@ItsPoppin4 жыл бұрын
What part of the video are you referring to?
@theoutdoordad73954 жыл бұрын
It's Poppin' - Pop Up Camping you tightened down the a/c to stop the leak. How do you know if the roof has been damaged enough that it needs replacing or repair? Great videos keep it up, thanks!!
@ItsPoppin4 жыл бұрын
Oh, I got you. So, no part of the roof near the A/C, or anywhere that I’ve inspected for that matter, is soft at all. The only thing I’ve seen is a bit of discoloration, which I don’t think warrants repair or replacement.
@theoutdoordad73954 жыл бұрын
@@ItsPoppin thanks- so if a roof is soft to the touch, is that the telltale sign it needs repair?
@ItsPoppin4 жыл бұрын
It's definatly a sign that there's water damage and/or water getting into the roof. I'd say that if you push your finger into the roof and it gives way, you need to look into it further and consider repair or replacement. If the leak can be stopped and the area can be dried out and it doesn't affect the weight bearing characteristics of the roof - great, it may not need to be repaired/replaced. However, if its beyond that, it may need to be. Definitely a judgment call, factoring in time, money, and the camper value itself.

I can’t believe the emphasis on air conditioning in a pop up..basically a pop up tent is a step up from tent camping. Compromising your lift and roof system to me is …umm dumb.. people who own these go to a plug in park?? I have one and I love it.. you will never run your ac unless you’re plugged in paying 50.00 a night or more or carry a huge generator. Ma
