My guess is it has to do with whatever the hoof is healing from 🤔 it may need more flexible room on one side to fix itself as it grows and/or the other side needs more nails to hold the hoofs shape as it grows

I don’t know much of horses other than they are fairly chill creatures. As for you question the way I look at it, makes removal of the shoe much easier being offset with one less nail.

You would fail a British Farriers exam. Didn't cut the clinches first before removing the old shoe and trimmed the frog far more than needed. Instant fails.

The horse's hooves grow. If the hooves are not taken care of the hooves will grow and curl up.

The person on top forgot to mention that it will hurt the horse to walk if it gets overgrown so it must be done to keep the horse healthy. It's not bull shit, it's basic knowledge.

They don't actually need shoes, so that part is largely bullshit. But in domestication they don't walk enough on the right ground to wear their hooves down so if we didn't trim them they'd just keep growing and curl up and cripple the horse. This is one of the worst trims I've seen to be fair.
