Both techniques can be used on the same nose. Blackheads and whiteheads can be squeezed individually, but sebaceous filaments cannot, so they are extracted with a snowplough kind of scrape.

I don't know how many here watch the Josefa Reina or Enilsa Brown channels, but they would have taken their napkins and cotton swabs and kneaded that nose 4 or 5x. This would have been a 35 minute video just on the nose!

In Vietnam, it's not considered socially acceptable to pick at your spots. Their facial hygiene is probably fine but the pores will clog and build up sometimes. Some people naturally tend to clog up more than others.

I wonder what the outcome would be if they used facial vacuums instead of the sharp blade, would it be more than going one by one to extract the blackheads? Or would it be just about the same amount of blackheads removed? Would it be a faster less painless process or just about the same? Maybe the spa should try using the facial vacuum in hopes of being less abrasive with it than with using the blades.

I have a pore vacuum and a half South Asian son with oily clogged skin. It did nothing good…barely took any of the keratin plugs out and marked his face up. South Asian skin is super prone to hyperpigmentation, it really is best to stab first and then squeeze…the stabbing opens the skin so less pressure is needed to push it out.

not as effective because some are buried deep within the skin, while also being plugged (similar to the tip of an iceberg where 90% of the body is beneath the surface). facial vacuums depend on the acne being liquid/ripe. sharp blades are there to puncture the plug and help allow a bigger outlet for the rest of the solidified "body" to be pushed out with mechanical pressure. The "facial vacuum" pressure is much weaker on the contrary.
