Beavers store water and improve hydrologic (water) conditions. They increase water storage on the surface as ponds are created and increased in size. This water filters down into the water table and recharges groundwater too. In some places this increase in water storage helps keep streams running that might otherwise go dry in the summer. Beaver lakes/ponds help keep surrounding areas from drying up and becoming fuel for forest fires.

The 3 most common problems associated with beavers are flooding that results from blocked structures (such as culverts like in the video) and damage caused to trees. And degrading/ destabilizing banks for the farmers through burrowing. We don’t completely get rid of every single one, but enough to keep them in check. As this video has been out, they have already rebuilt. Also as long as we can keep the water in the channel we don’t disturb them. When It causes erosion is when we intervene. We have to step lightly as some government agencies ie. Corp of Engineers want no beavers while Fish and Wildlife/ Conservation don’t want anything disturbed. Sorry for the long answer lol. Because it would eventually lead to flooding fields with stagnant, rotten water. It has to be flushed every so often. Doing it during the warm months doesn't threaten the beavers either as they'll rebuild. It's when people drain them during the winter when beavers are impacted badly.

No, they do not dwell within these structures. Instead, they often live in oven-shaped lodges made of sticks, grass, moss and mud built in or on the shore of the ponds their dams created. You can see one of the beavers swim down stream later on in the video! The dams are already rebuilt by now

We do leave the beavers alone, I’ve never seen one inside as we have cleaned the dam out, neither have the ran out, normally we do these jobs really early, and we catch them working taking trees down or gathering. There’s another video I’ve posted where the beaver is building elsewhere. We don’t catch them our kill them, just keep them in line to where we can plant trees to reclaim and get back to the land without standing water. Just give them other jobs to look forward to.
