Crimp connections are actually really good if done right. Very strong and solid. Thank you for the video. Adding a Zumo XT to a V85 Centenario.

I couldn’t think of anything fitting to say, I’m lost really. As usual, precise and very well explained. 👍

Thank you for taking the trouble,I found it helpful. As for the USB socket, I have been told not to use it in the wet, which would favor your wiring solution.

This is a good point - having a USB under the seat might be useful then - though it definitely isn't waterproof under there either with so many gaps etc.

Excellent, just what I needed 😎

Nice bracket for navigation. I ended up with the isotta version PN-88. The version you have mounted offers more options, unfortunately sold out at the moment

Cheers. I don't remember where I found out about it - but it was also sold out when I enquired. The guy is really helpful though and emailed me directly when they came back into stock 👍

For a lazy bloke like yourself....well that's a very nice job, can't see any issues with it. Ride safely.

Cheers, note that I have since re-wired it (see link in description) to tap power from the front USB feed. Much less cabling, and a bit neater I feel.

@@MultiVogon I'll check it out. My bike is still at the dealer waiting to be picked up. One month....and still haven't been able to get myself there to take it home. Got a new 2021 Adventure. Soon I'll make a video with all the accessories that I have sitting in the garage for it.

Is the port under the seat you went into 5v? My Garmin has a box converting from 12v to 5v so it can go directly to the battery but of course I prefer it to only be on when the key is on. I suspect I just have to cut the voltage converter out and add the connector above it.

Hi - great video. Just Googled “amp superseal” and am a bit confused by the array of connectors and amperage values available. Can you tell me exactly which is the correct connector to purchase please? Thanks.

Hi, I've just seen this and been back through my amazon order history and found the ones I bought: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07F2BGFZZ/ (not a sponsored link!) If you're not in the UK, it at least gives you an idea. I bought these for wiring up my V7, and the same ones are used on the V85.

Can I not just fit a Garmin to my USB port on the V85TT ? I presume your bike does not have the USB port?
@MultiVogon Жыл бұрын
You could just connect a USB cable from the USB port on the dashboard to the unit itself for sure. I've done this before on a previous bike. Be careful however that the port on the V85 is not waterproof with a cable plugged in - so you might not want to do that if you live in a rainy country! I wired mine in directly because I wanted to keep the port free for charging etc.

Hi, how you ran the cable from the battery compartment to the gps? Did you remove the plastic covers? Thank you.
@MultiVogon2 жыл бұрын
Hi, no I just tucked the wire under the tank then across sort of above one cylinder, then up into the front wiring bundle. Note, however, that I have since removed this and re-wired it to tap power from the front USB socket feed. (See description for link to that vid if interested).

How do you know which is Pos and Neg
@MultiVogon2 жыл бұрын
Well the best way to be sure is to use a multimeter of some kind.
