Gojo wanted to do that and kill the disaster curses but he didn’t know how fast they’d wake up from his limited Infinite Void and counterattack so he decided to get rid of the transfigured humans first but he had to figure that out on the spot which made him exhausted and got caught off guard by prison realm. Kenjaku wanted Gojo to be mentally off balance so he could have a complete opening to crush him with Geto’s body reveal to him and seal Gojo.

They do not see weakness as a curse and view themselves as protecting the weak. Their whole arcs are centered around being challenged to become monsters and admit that they are flawed, but they refuse to accept this and strive to be better. Gojo is not like them. He views weakness as a curse and the only thing that really kept him in check when he was younger was Geto. I mean, Geto even had to tell him not to kill the people celebrating the death of Riko. He also, as I said, killed every one of the higher ups in cold blood, perpetuating the cycle of violence that exists in Jujutsu Society. His conflict with Sukuna also isn’t to save the world, but rather to fight the strongest. His primary motivations are selfish. He wants to fight the strongest and - like Kashimo- experience a life that is not boring. Despite this, he does do good things. He doesn’t want Amanai to be absorbed by Tengen so he and Geto decide not to give her over. He spares Yuji’s life when he could easily have killed him. He gives Megumi a place to stay and guides him in his process. So, he does horrific things but he balances it out by doing genuine good. Anti-hero.
