I love how powerful and intimidating both of these dubs make him seem, but in a different way. The Japanese one sounds very nonchalant, calm and condescending, showing he knows he's just so powerful he doesn't even *need* to take anything seriously and just finds amusement in toying with everyone else. This really reflects how he's been described, an entity that's guided and fueled only by his desires, doing whatever satisfies his wants with absolutely no limit. The English dub on the other hands makes him sound more like a stereotypical villain, but it does so extremely well. His tone is more serious and cavernous, and he sounds slightly older too, reflecting how ancient he actually is. I especially love the way he says "Malevolent Shrine", or tells Mahoraga "You can see my curse technique", absolutely bone-chilling.

Both are amazing performances. I do think I prefer the calmer almost casual tone in the sub, since in my opinion that just makes him sound so much more powerful. Really emphasizing how confident he is that the battle will be easy for him.
