Buy a Satscard: store.coinkite.com/promo/BTCSessions

This would be a good candidate for leaving a country, right? You could carry it as if it was a bank card. The OPENDIME may bring up more questions, especially at an airport if it was in your bag?

Can you deposit to the first address multiple times before sweeping? I am thinking about possibly using this for allowance with the kids. I really wish it was possible to tap it to the BlockClock Micro to get a balance on this.

Thanks! I wondered if you would answer a quick question please. Do you know if there is a place where I can sell my USDt on the liquid network, or do I need to swap it before cashing in?

Hey Ben. Loving your channel. What podcasting platform do you use?? Clearwell

Hey Devon! So for live stuff I use Streamyard, and for tutorials I use OBS and edit in iMovie. For audio podcasts I just upload via Anchor, and have also registered my podcast to show up on podcastindex.org

@@BTCSessions Hey Ben. I somehow managed to double message you. You replied to both, so thanks very much for that. Excellent info. And excellent show. Keep up the good work. Dev

QUESTION: Do we need to use the Nunchuk wallet to "sweep" the Satscard? Or is there other ways to "sweep" the bitcoin from the card? Thank you a lot for your videos. I got a Bitcoin node for a week thanks to you :)
@BTCSessions2 жыл бұрын
Nunchuk is the first wallet to offer support for Satscard and some other NFC options, but I imagine we'll see others soon. Blue Wallet typically jumps on these things early so I would keep an eye on them as an alternative. Stoked to hear you're running a node - congrats!

Hi BTC sessions, thanks for your video. But why would you want this instead of just using a soft/hot mobile wallet for anyone who would desire to be small time spending and/or gifting BTC/SATS and in the process also show your gift receiver just how safe and smooth the BTC experience and reality is? Apart from someone thinking this SC is fun as a gimmick (which I can fully understand) its just adding cost and complexity isn't it?

Another awesome video Cool fact: when verifying whether a Bitcoin address matches another, you can simply check the last 4 bytes of the address (last 4 digits on a bech32 address). The last four bytes are a checksum of the whole address. That is mostly important when pasting an address in a wallet for a transaction, but most wallets out there will verify whether the input address is a valid one already.

Awesome I actually didn't know this!

Did you cover the CVC code or does it have some camera protection? Is it the orange bit? I can't see where you are reading it from.

Ha I guess the writing was a bit faint with the image. It's clear to read in person though! It's in the box on the right of the card though!

I don't understand why the 10x use limit on the card! Is it just so they can sell more of them? Can someone explain?

Can you change the code? Thinking about incorporating it into an art project and want it to be trustless for the buyer

Can you reuse the card for gifting as the initial gifter without having possession of the card? Would like to use to gift Sats to family and just send more every birthday or something.

It is very easy to load Bitcoin on to the Sats card but it is incredibly slow and complicated to transfer bitcoin from to transfer bitcoin from the Sats card to your Nunchuck wallet. I don’t recommend the Sats card. What good is it as a cash-like trade item if the recipient of the card cannot transfer the bitcoin on the card to another wallet or exchange to actually redeem the bitcoin for cash? I’m very disappointed.

What happens if when setting up the 2nd address the CVC is entered incorrectly? Would it allow the address setup and expect the incorrectly entered CVC for the 2nd sweep? Hopefully not because if it does you could only trust slot 1 when being gifted the card.

I am just looking for simple instructions for how to check the balance on the card after Sats are loaded.

Can this card be demagnetized? And what happens in that case?
@habibaghasafari22372 жыл бұрын
I cannot see any scenario that justifies the use of this product. It is not trustless. You have to trust the manufacturer and also trust that the device is not a fake knockoff with malicious code which means means the reciever have to trust that you haven't given them a fake malicious device. Which means upon receiving the device, the reciever should immediately sweep the funds. So if that's the case, why not just do a lighting or on-chain transaction? It will be way cheaper and safer to just do a transaction.
@BTCSessions2 жыл бұрын
I get your point, but isn't the same true of trust in a hardware wallet? Unless you build something like a seedsigner from independently sourced parts. The tapsigner's code is open source and you can use a command line tool to audit what's happening if need be. You can indeed just send a transaction. That said, I find this a good option for gifting Bitcoin to someone.
@xiaodaigu56592 жыл бұрын
I think your limiting your thoughts to large transactions. For small transactions of $25 - $100 USD, between someone that knows a little about bitcoin to someone that knows nothing about bitcoin, I think this is perfect, due to the low cost of the device and the ease of use. I can also see cases where these cards are pre-loaded with bitcoin in set amounts by a trusted party, and rarely swept, but just used in the same way notes are used. Not every financial transaction has to be 100% trustless to have utility.
@xiaodaigu56592 жыл бұрын
Also, one extra point. The card has X509 certificate, so you can verify it's genuine offline. It's the same way you know a hardware wallet is genuine, or the website you connecting to with your browser is genuine.
