That’s wild, I had no idea that the HSB/HSL filter even existed. I probably touched it one time and couldn’t figure out what the heck it was doing. So it’s converted the hue saturation and lightness into RGB values/channels? And that’s why the saturation is in the green channel? That’s amazing. I know I came across some saturation mask action back in the day when I used PS every day, but I think it used a different method that I can’t remember now. This is so amazingly simple. Well done again Unmesh!!

I loved the Saturation Mask approach and it make my test image pop. However, as Tony Kyper points out it saturates the shadow areas as well as the highlights and mid-tones. I created a shadow mask using the Select Color Range tool, applied it to a new Hue/Saturation layer, decreased the saturation and that seemed to improve the image.

Try using Blend If on Underlying Layer to reduce the saturation in the shadows and/or extreme highlights
