I miss the 80’s. Riding my bike everywhere, skateboarding, running through the woods, which took you down to a stream, which we splashed and played in. Took turns going swimming at each other’s house (cause everyone had a pool then), playing flashlight tag at night, kickball, whiffleball, capture the flag. Those were the days.

So this is what ruined America... 1. Took away Saturday morning cartoons substituting it with media talk shows 2. Took away morning game shows substituting it with media talk shows 3. Sitcoms replaced with, "reality" tv 4. Even the middle of the night talk show infomercials instead of the star spangled banner signaling end of tv for an 1hr or 2 🤔💭 what else has MSM ruined....or is it just tv?

@@user-gp3tb8ho2b Well, for one. there were less restrictions. Sure, you now have smartphones, game consoles, computers that can do a lot of things, and other modern gadgets. and have virtual friends from all over the world. Back then, grade schoolers and teenagers would go outside play games, explore with their friends and return home in the evening every summer. We were allowed to be kids and teenagers and were not used to mouth off political activism that we barely could understand by teachers and other adults. We have true friendships and we personally all know each other's families. I miss that era despite enjoying the tech advancement of today. Truth be told, Facebook, Twitter, Tiktok and KZbin and the over politicalization of the educational system in Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand took away the greatest gift one will ever have as a child or a teenager, the gift of innocence and the willingness to learn other ideas, to accept friendships and the understanding of what's right and wrong.

We drank from garden hoses when we were thirsty and we biked ALL THE WAY up to 7 Eleven for a Slurpee. If it sounds like Stranger Things,it’s because that WAS my life...they just ripped it off.take my iPhone,WiFi and laptop now;just let me go back to 1984....

All on maybe 3 or 4 TV stations to choose from..IF they came in good through the rabbit ears and had a minimal amount of snow in the picture... I would give anything and everything to go back and relive my childhood in the 80’s....it was such an amazing time for me. I was born in 1976, so i had the incredible chance of living the 80’s at its fullest! I remember watching the original Star Wars trilogy for the very first time with all my friends, and how it was really meant to be watched...not the crappy special editions that we have today, i remember experiencing all the best movies from the 80’s live at the cinema or on VHS tapes, watching the saturday morning cartoons, having the best cartoons ever created, without the censorship and all the bullshit of todays cartoons, playing with the best and coolest toys ever created, playing amazing video games on the atari 2600, nintendo nes, coleco vision or at the arcade, being free to play outside and with our toys how we wanted to, without being over protected by our parents or being affraid of everything like todays kids! Almost every 80’s kids will tell you that it was the best time of their life, and for very good reasons! We were free and happy! I often think of my childhood and everything we had in the 80’s, it was such a magical time to be alive! I only have amazing memories from that time! Todays kids will never know what it was like to be a kid in the 80’s...no words can describe it!! Thank you for this video, it put a big smile on my face! :)

Stephen Payne Yes exactly! :) And without the incredibly stupid “Jedi Rock” song/scene, without Vader sceaming “NOOOOO!” like a little girl, without Christensen replacing Shaw at the end of “Return of the Jedi” which made absolutely no sense at all, and without all the other stupid changes that completely ruined the trilogy for me and for millions of other fans of Star Wars! Lol Fortunately, we have the “despecialized editions” now, so we can still watch the original trilogy the way it was first released back in 1977, 1980 and 1983!! Luckly, because if it wasnt for the “despecialized editions”, i wouldnt be watching the original trilogy anymore, i seriously cant stand the special editions, they are ansolutely terrible! Lol

Who else feels weird about watching all these commercials thinking a regular program is coming on next?

I remember all of these commercials -- their jingles, jokes, catch phrases and overall cheesiness! I found myself quoting and singing along with a number of these, especially the Wrigley's gum commercials which were my favorites back then. Back in the day my cousin and I often quoted these like "Surprise Max Steel!" "Let go my cereal Sugar Bear!" and "Heinz: The Best Things Come to those who wait." I now wonder "Whatever happened to Ruth from the Bounty paper towel commercials??", if anyone ever won the Alpha Bits cereal Max robot prize (Did they enjoy it? Does it still work?, was it really a legitimate prize?? and I'm now curious if 30+ years later the Mongols demon bendable toys still retain their "near original shape" after you tear them apart and reattach them, and if the Water Pets toys ever had mold issues.I use to think those were water proof Care Bears 😆 #MEMORIES! They really put allot of thought and creativity into making these ads and products memorable and great. I remember wanting that Masters of The Universe Castle Gray Skull play set. I could go on and on about this but I don't have the time to.... I got mentally lost in the pure fun and sweet nostalgia of this video. I nearly watched the entire thing until I remembered I've got things to do and not allot of time on my hands. But anyways..... Enjoy! 💚😜❤

@Quincy, Uber Vegan My older cousin was born in '76. We used to argue sometimes over stuff like which was better...He-Man or She-Ra. lol He was a huge Voltron fan, which I used to watch with him since 3/4 year old girl couldn't compete with a 8/9 year old boy, lol and a big Transformers fan. I miss those times.

@@ssjup81 😆 you just named all 4 of my favorite shows growing up! 😆 #MEMORIES! My cousin and I everyday would come home from elementary school and immediately grab our favorite snacks and on came the TV. We had the same arguments you did! We'd watch tv before doing homework. 2-5pm Mon thru Friday we saw whatever was on at that time. We loved He-Man and She-Ra (she became the favorite her show debuted), Voltron, Transformers, Flintstones, Jetsons, and we even enjoyed Gem and The Holograms, and Beverly Hills Teens. And then Saturday mornings.... The Justice League.... and whatever was on PBS. Good times!

Wow! I'm reliving my childhood. Everyone was breakdancing in candy commercials. Go Bots was to Transformers what Matchbox cars was to Hot Wheels. My fave cereals were Donutz and Waffle-os, both discontinued. I loved Hi-C and Kool aid. I don't remember grape Newtons but Kellogs used to make yummy grape Pop tarts. The old Atari game commercials were awesome, but I preferred better graphics. Those E/I features NBC aired like 'Bet you don't Know' and 'One to Grow on' really took me back. Kids shows aren't educational anymore. Saturday Supercade was a great arcade game themed cartoon. But all those cereal and clothes commercials they don't make anymore. They really defined that decade. Zips tennis shoes, Jordache jeans (80's designer jeans), and Penny racers, which if I remember right, that toy was sold in the 70's also. I discovered Nickelodeon in the late 80's. Just in time to watch 'You Can't do That on Television'. Christine, aka Moose was a crush of mine. Before Google, there were encyclopedias.

Man I miss the 80s these commercials have a sense of warmth and wholesomeness to them, it seems like things were safer back then, me and my friends girls and boys would ride our bikes everywhere we play all day in the woods and make water dams in the creek and no one ever bothered us, we didn’t even think about people bothering us. Gosh everything has changed even since the 90s. Seems like we hit th year 2000 and everything changed especially after 9/11. I would give 10 yrs off my life to have what we had in the 80and 90s or pre 9/11.
