Always been a fan of SNL so I’m hyped for this! And Dylan o Brian is Dan aykroyd, fs there

I saw it. I enjoyed it very much. You felt like you were in the 70's, the hair/make-up/clothes were great - The Actors practically all looked like who they were playing. As far as the facts go - EW did an article on this - Much of what is portrayed in the movie did happen or was rooted in truth, but didn't all necessarily happen that night. It's not a Documentary, it's a movie and for me it worked!

I think Lorne is pretty charismatic

This movie was electric. I can get the high of doing comedy for the first time.

Lorne Michaels is played by the lead in The Fabelmans, maybe you saw that as well but didn't recognize Gabriel LaBelle here

Great review! I was nine when SNL premiered and I grew up with the original cast, so I was really hoping this movie would be good. Glad to hear you liked it, as I value your insights greatly! Now I can’t wait!

I was born in 1975, and my parents were on top of all things cool, including SNL. When I hear, "LIVE FROM NEW YORK, IT'S SATURDAY NIGHT!" I feel a blast of joy that is duplicated every time it is said.

I've been a bonified SNL history nerd since birth. Like, the only reason I don't have a particular nostalgia for this cast is because I was born in '85, making the late-80's cast my cast. This movie aimed directly at my nerd heart and didn't miss it, and I am still on a very happy high from watching it last night. I fucking loved everything about it and I'm so glad it worked out the way it did! 😊❤

It was great in '84-'85. But at best I give it a C+ in the years thereafter. It's an F now.

Completely agreed that Lorne Michael’s ‘charisma’ was turned up a notched for the movie. I had to look up “Lorne Michael interview young” to watch real footage to compare it to, because the movie portrayal didn’t seem to match what I had envisioned. 😅

Going in, I didn't expect the movie to bump Civil War from my #1. Inside Out 2 didn't. The Wild Robot didn't. Yet here we are, with Saturday Night currently my favorite movie of the year.

I loved this film from start to finish. We need more of this in Cinema, especially BTS looks at infamous productions. Cory Michael Smith killed it as Chevy Chase! And Cooper Hoffman, what a force!

My most anticipated movie for the rest of the year me and my uncle are waiting until Saturday night. That way we can see Saturday night on Saturday Saturday night lol I am so excited for this movie. Cannot wait. It looks amazing!!!

I took my dad to see this. As soon as JK Simmons shows up on screen as Milton Berle, he turned to me and said “he had a massive dong”. Took the element of surprise of that reveal lol.

I will go see the movie. But I saw the real thing from 1975-79, and there will never be another show that will top it. Ever.
@harveybojangle4758 күн бұрын
2:25=Says "Billy Crystal", shows Billy Preston? Also, with his sketch comedy troupe background, Lorne Michaels was a showman prior to SNL. So, it may be more accurate than first assumed.

I want to preface with. I liked the film we got. It is good. But I spent a lot of it wishing I was watching a a different film. I would have preferred a standard narrative structure. Things that were mentioned in the film could not be examined due to the real time nature of the film. How and why was Lorne Michaels on anyone's radar to even get this chance? Why did he pick the people to work on it that he did? I would have liked to have seen the reality of Lorne's almost delusions of grandeur vs the reality of no one at the studio believing in him of the show. I would have liked to have seen the story of the show from conception then in the last act spend say the last 45 mins in real time telling the story of how frantic everything was up moments before air as we got in the film that was made. But again, the film we got is good and I do recommend

Who Is Your ALL TIME Favorite SNL Cast Member?!
@drjasonfreemanАй бұрын
Will Ferrell...though I think Eddie Murphey was Better, just a bit before my time of watching the show.

It's hard to say anything besides Farley or Ferrell, but I want to say Kenan since I've been a fan since the 'All That' days.

Tough one. And funny because I have a lot of comedians I like that are SNL alumni but I didn't really like their stuff from SNL that much it's more what they did after, of course there are exceptions. All time favorite overall though, to many to choose, in the top 10ish not in order: Andy Samberg, Bill Hader, Maya Rudolph ,Chris Farley, George Carlin,Will Ferrell, Fred Armisen,John Belushi,Phil Hartman,Norm Mcdonald,Kate McKinnon ,.... Too many to choose😂. Who's your all time favorite Coy? Carlin? Thanks for the review!
