I respect and appreciate Mairanne on so many levels; she is truly brilliant and her ideas are well thought out, and she has a very sincere heart. I would love to vote for her. Everyone has a right in their own comment space provided to each viewer to share their view - just because someone else's view does not agree with mine, I don't then feel the need to go and attack them and behave like a dictator bashing their right to express in their own comment space their personal view; I don't feel so insecure that I need everyone else to think like me and express themselves like me, I don't need to validate myself by trying to bully everyone else into thinking and commenting exactly like me - I don't feel invalidated if someone else thinks and feels differently. I respect everyone else's view even if it is the complete 180 of mine. I would not vote for Marianne because with no experience in governance, no local, state, national or international experience, with no international relations or connections or respect or recognition on the world stage among our allied leaders - with no history demonstrating any skill in the very difficult task of domestic governance & legislation, having forged no relationships with U.S. congressional leaders, and with zero reputation among the many dictators who are becoming ever more emboldened and more vicious by the minute such as Putin, Kim Jong Un, Assad in Syria, Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia, Xi Jinping of China & Hamas just to name a few, all of whom are being held at bay by the current coalition of free nations connected by strong personal and political ties and relations, these increasingly aggressive dictators and their many wannabes and copycat leaders in other countries around the world along with the rabid GOP faction here at home - they would all eat Marianne up like cotton candy, coming in with her idealistic, no experience soft gentle spiritual teacher image about love and peace and harmony and idealism - she would be eaten alive and spit out before breakfast!! Even in her speeches when she tries to sound bold and forceful and strong....she doesn't, she sounds passionate and she is a good motivational speaker, but she would be seen as easy harmless prey in the eyes of Putin and Xi Jinping!! It's nice to have great big idealistic ideas about how she is going to change the system and make a new perfect world, and to decide before ever having opened the hood and looked into the engine and the machinery of our political system domestically and internationally - before ever having had any experience actually working this complex political engine / machinery, without ever having had to get her own hands dirty and bloodied in the real world of domestic and international politics, never having had to feel the ENORMOUS resistance with her own hands on the levers of power, never having had to meet and deal face to face and look into the evil eyes of Putin, Xi Jinping or Assad in person - it's so easy to speak of big ideas and idealistically about how she can make all these wonderful sweeping changes when one is working only within the confines of their own mind; but if there is anything I’ve learned in my many years of life is that turning a great idea into hard reality - especially political ones - is orders of magnitude harder than just dreaming about them in one’s mind. And I know their is such a movie like romantic frontier Maverick draw of someone inexperienced, unknown, untainted by Washington, an outsider, not of the system - a real cowboy or cowgirl riding up over the ridge awash in a golden sunset on a blazing saddle to save the day! BUT the reality is international and domestic political chess is not as simple as it looks from the outside or as easy to fix with idealistic "solutions" no matter how good the intention, no matter how sincere the heart. Nothing and no one is perfect. No leader will EVER have every quality each of us wants her or him to have. Every president, Republican or Democratic, has done good things (except DT) and made mistakes - no one can have a perfect score card ( after 8 full years with G. W. Bush in the WH, the 2007 complete financial devastating U.S. crash resulted - no one is perfect no matter the political party. President Lincoln, one of the greatest souls to grace this planet and a hero for the ages, brilliant as he was made huge errors in judgement that cost 10s of thousands of lives for which he tasted the most bitter and agonizing heartache any human being can bare - a flawless president is not possible ), but national and international political reputation, respect and experience in terms of the ability to lead allies in the various international challenges is enormously important especially now. I know she is passionate, and I know when people (citizens) are angry and frustrated they see only what upsets them about current leaders and they just want to condemn, judge against, complain, lash out and throw out the old “bastards” and bring in the new regardless of the actual hard won and fought for accomplishments made by the current administration. BUT many took this tactic in 2000 with Al Gore voting for 3rd party Ralph Nadar and again in 2016 not being able to vote for Clinton, many chose to vote for 3rd party or not vote at all, or vote for a write in candidate, and look what that got us in 2000 and again in 2016. Is that worth repeating? Sometimes, more than sometimes, it is necessary to not react emotionally, not to allow ourselves to be triggered and take action out of emotional upset, to not let our emotions take us out of logic and real world political reality, but to accept that nothing and no one will be perfect - no one will turn every tide and solve every problem as smoothly, as quickly, as perfectly as we would like or by the same brilliance we ascribe to our ourselves when judging all those stupid leaders. Putting aside our blinding rage, upset and frustration, logically assessing all the domestic and international qualities that are needed in a U.S. president in this most tumultuous of times, and not allowing our anger to blind us to the long list of real world accomplishments of this very imperfect president and administration (all of which can be verified and corroborated over multiple credible sources with a record of historical accuracy), without denying the errors that have been made which every single POTUS makes, is key in deciding whom to vote for. DT did not win the presidency because of votes, he won because of all those people who put logic and reality aside and out of their blind anger and frustration voted 3rd party or did not vote at all - THAT is what put DT in the WH. It may feel momentarily good to vote our anger, to feel satisfied that “I kicked the bastards out”, but that serves only as a momentary emotional charge that has long term deleterious consequences. In the words of DT’s former chief of staff, John Kelly, in regards to the possibility of DT winning the presidency again, “God help us”. Please think carefully before voting 3rd party. With all of Mariannes' good sincere intentions, she and other 3rd party candidates may be the perfect shinny trap doors to let DT back into the WH AGAIN!! Respectfully a citizen of the United States.
