@@keatoncurran this song is longer than the album, and most songs are around 4-5 mins. But the albums are wonderful to play and will take you on a journey. Start with for Emma, and work your way to the recent album. I hope this helps.

You’ve listened to them for 10 years and don’t address Bon iver as a band not a single person. Justin is a genius amongst a handful of other genius’s that make this band known as Bon iver.

So that just happened... I didn't think I could like him more. Before I watched the video, I saw the "Jerry Garcia" like jam mentions in the comments and I thought, nah... not from JV. Then I'm watching and he starts. it's slow. it's cute. I'm like, nah, those youtuber comments are cute, but this isn't grateful dead like, Justin doesn't play like that. Then he gets going a bit, and I'm like, "ok... this is kinda like Jerry. I see it. An then it keeps going, and going. and my mouth just drops. What a jam! I have been listening to Justin for years and have never heard him play like that. And his face around 4:54, the man is in it - he's feeling it! Wow. Just wow. My hat is off to this band. I saw them at the Gorge this summer. Magical night. Bucket list kind of thing. Thank god there are people who still make music that touch my soul. I mean, are there many things as powerful in this world?

Listened to and loved everything JV touched since whenever. Also old enough to remember listening to and being bored rigid by guitar solos like this. Then punk came and it went away. Just a shame that it's being reintroduced in what's an excellent track on a great album. Hope he doesn't do it on the rest or my Dublin ticket is for sale.

As a huge Fan this was supposed to be the highlight of a year of great concerts. In my view unfortunately, they either have yet to fully figure out how to bring Bon Iver to such big stages or I am just to late for the experience that I am looking for, one that is as transcending as their Records. Maybe they should dig into the magic they have created at the Sydney Opera. But maybe it was just Barcleys Arena in particular. It just felt like a miss-match. Everyone just sitting on their chair, even on the floor section. (They ranks are so steep and narrow, standing up would be suicidal anyways).
@sirpattrick145 жыл бұрын

I was on the floor and everyone was standing up by the 3rd or 4th song. It was amazing, energy was blazing and caught by the people around me; I had a rocking time. Can’t tell if you were there or not, but I think this video recording might be what’s not clicking and isn’t able to pass on the energy of the live performance and atmosphere.

Definitely the venue. I saw him in an intimate venue this year and “transcendent” is the perfect word to describe it
@charliezumkehr5 жыл бұрын
I actually saw him on the short theatre tour he did right before he announced the album, and it was a totally different experience then what this arena tour seems to be. he had a smaller band, maybe 5 or 6 guys and they gave two sets, an hours length each, that basically represented all of the music he has made through Bon Iver perfectly. everyone just sat and watched, which i guess is more fitting since it was a theatre, and due to it technically still being the 22 a million era it seemed a little bit more intimate. kinda interesting how he can go to a whole entirely different vibe in the same year, but both tours seem cool so whatev

Listen to For Emma - Bon Iver, Bon Iver - 22, a million and i,i - in this specific order for two or three times and you’ll get it. Do it, it is so worth it! If you know where the man came from, all the way to this perfomance, you would have had a big smile throughout the whole song.
